Hello everyone!
I hope everyone's well happy and staying warm in the new year! :). So I am looking into getting a Vitamix and was wondering which model everyone is using and what they think is best. The new model is the 5200 but on Alissa's web-site she is selling the 4500 and I know there are even older models.
Which one does everyone think is better the 4500 or the 5200 and why? Thanks for your help and feedback.
Have a beautiful lovely day!

I have the 4500 and love it. My dtr. got a GR8 deal on the 5200 and it's equally as good, I think. Either one - you can't go wrong...

I have the 4500 also and absolutely love it. I did see another vitamix demonstrated and it has the speed dial, I believe it was the 5200.....if I'd known about that one before I'd bought the 4500, I would have gotten it. Just because it does have some nice features but I'll keep running my 4500 until it dies....it's just soooo nice.

I have the 5200 - it does have a speed dial in the middle of the unit. Costco did a demo twice last year in my area where people were able to purchase instore for a pretty good price.
I use my Vitamix every day and can not say enough good things about it ..Love, love, love it!
here is some info on the 5200 from the Vitamix site-

Just like everything else there are upgrades made to keep things marketable ( make things new and exciting to keep people interested) I am sure either units are great!

I bought mine ata Costco demo at a great price $269! They do demo's all over and the machines they sell at these events are new with all the bells and whistles.
I bought the modle 5000 with:
1 x high speed switch
1 x variable speed dial
1 x on/off switch
I LOVE this machine. Thinking back I am very pleased they were offering the one with the variable speed dial as I use it every single time.
I have heard from users who have the very early modles rave with the the same enthusiasm as those who have the newer one. So I double you will be dissapointed whichever one you get.
You may also now be getting a HP choice like 2, 2+ & 3hp. My 2hp is more than fine.
