Well I have officially decided after much consideration to begin my journey on the raw food lifestyle. I do have some questions for you all.

1. I bought some raw hemp powder for smoothies, is it considered a carb or a protein since its 50/50 on the macros. If it is a protein which fruits/veggies would be best to use to make my smoothies?

2. I dont have a blender, juicer or food processor as of yet, I do however have a magic bullet, anyone have experience making smoothies in one of these?

3. Another thing I have coming in the mail is raw oat groats. When I soak them do I do this in the fridge? Can I soak them in a tupperware container and do I cover it or not?

Thanx for all the insight!

Soaking them in the fridge is preference. If you have room, I would do it.

You answered your own question when it comes to hemp: it is both a carb AND a protein. Just because something has more or less of something else doesn't make it strictly that (IE: Eggs are not "protein" they are fats, proteins, etc etc) Especially in our case where it is 50/50. It wouldn't really matter anyways which one you classified it with.

It is just going to get things nice and thick- so I would recommend using it with fruits like pears or apples, throw a banana in there.

The only one of your questions I can answer is the one about the oat groats. I make them occasionally and just leave them on the counter in either a glass bowl (when I'm going to be eating them at home) or a tupperware bowl (when I'll need to take them with me in the morning).

I personally wouldn't soak them in the fridge because I don't like them so cold.

Thanx for the help everyone. The reason I'm wondering on the hemp is food combining. Something about not combining proteins and fruit together?

I'll soak my oat groats in the fridge, but by the time I take it to work and let it sit for a while, it gets room temperature. I usually put raisins and/or chopped apples in it. I dunno. Seems like it softens and absorbs the fruit flavors better when soaked in the fridge.
