Does anyone have a recipe for a salad dressing that is creamy but doesn't require the use of nuts or a lot of processing? I love raw caesar dressing but the recipes I have seen seem to require a lot of work. I don't like to do a lot of work just so I can eat. The raw dressing I have been buying is expensive. Also the store I get it from is closer to my job than my home - so if I run out over the weekend I am stuck without dressing. I am looking for something really simple from ingredients I can just get at the store. HELP PLEASE! :confused:

I don't know if no nuts means no seeds, but I have found chia seeds to make a nice creamy sauce.

Avacado makes a nice creamy dressing. My favorite is citrus dressing using
avacado
orange juice
olive oil
apple cidar vinegar
sea salt
some water for thinning a little if you need it
Yum!!

What about raw tahini dressing?

I just blend the following:
tahini
water
garlic
lemon juice

Of course, you can also add in orange juice and/or agave..

Tastes YUMMY on salad. :D

Avocado
Cucumber
Celery
Lemon Juice
Whatever fresh herb you have. (optional)

This makes a great base for a dressing. You can add anything to this to make it interesting to you. Its light and creamy.

Thanks to Super Smart Holy Guacamole-here is the 12 tribes dressing. You could make it creamier by adding avocado.

Twelve Tribes Parsley Dressing

makes 1-2c

I had this recipe once while visiting the Twelve Tribes in VT. I couldn’t get enough of it! After 13 years I have finally cracked the code! It’s awesome as a dip for cucumbers and red peppers.
Ingredients

* 1 bunch of parsley
* 1 lemon, squeezed
* 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
* 3 tablespoons H2O
* 2 cloves garlic
* 1 teaspoon sea salt
* stevia, or sweetener of choice-to taste
* 1 cup olive oil

Preparation

Blend all ingredients-except the olive oil. With blender still running, add olive oil SLOWLY.

Blend avocado with enough water to get the consistency you want.

Alissa's ginger vinegarette is really creamy once you blend it...it's on page 480 in her book.

Thank you all so much for the recipes. They all look really easy and my mouth is watering already thinking about the taste. I will try to make the effort to try at least one new dressing recipe each week! Thanks again.:D

I make a coconut milk dressing thats pretty spicy:

coconut milk (blend meat of mature coconuts in coconut water and straing through cloth or nutmilk bag)
crushed garlic
crushed ginger
lime juice
dash of olive oil
pinch of salt
finely chopped lemongrass if available

mix together and let stand for maybe half hour to let flavours blend.

You can also make this with coconut cream to make it creamier.

This is one of my favorite new combinations.. My variation is slightly different than yours but very similar..

Tahini
Raw Honey
ACV
EVOO
Cumin
Paprika

It is sooo yummy.. :D:p:D

Also, if you make a batch you can leave it in the fridge for a few days so you don't have to make it every time you have a salad.

Another variation of a great, simple recipe:

Avocado
Cucumber
Celery
tomato

Opt: Onion or chives
Opt: Any herb...

It gets as simple as this for me: whatever I have on hand I fake till it comes out....

Combos are endless...play around and see what you love....we got some excellent recipes already shared I see as winners. Thanks all.....I always love new ideas...

Tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic. Very easy but satisfying combination. I also use hummos or other pates + apple cider vinegar as a great salad dressing.

Again, I want to thank you guys sooooo much for all the great recipes. I am definitely going to start a file for these recipes and I will be trying at least one of them this weekend. They will also save me lots of money. The delicious creamy dressing I have been eating - I JUST CAN'T AFFORD IT ANYMORE! :(It costs $9.00 a bottle and I have to drive a little distance to get it. And - I usually use a bottle a week because I eat a lot of salads! I am on a serious, serious budget this year and I just can't afford to spend $9.00 for salad dressing no matter how good it tastes!
