I would really like to start making my own raw almond milk, but I find that raw almonds are really expensive. Is there any way to make an inexpensive "milk"? I love soymilk and since that isn't raw, I'd like to replace it with something similar.

In principle you can use any nuts or seeds to make milk. I am not sure about the taste but perhaps you can try with sprouted sunflower seed. They are economical. Maybe add some raw agave in it to give a better taste.

Best wishes!

Try mixing the nuts as well maybe 1/2 almonds & 1/2 sunflower seeds.

That might work. I'll experiment this week with it and see what happens. Is vanilla extract raw? I use it in cooked food but if I can use it in almond "milk" that would be great.

You can make the almond milk weaker. I use one cup of almonds for 5-6 cups of water. It's still good!

I also make the quick 30 second milk with raw almond butter. I tbsp of almond butter to a few cups water & blend. Milk in 30 seconds & no nut bag squeezing. Not sure if it's cheaper but so much faster. Sometimes time is $.
