I've been feeling a lot of gratitude for my material possessions and you'd have to understand that's in the context of someone who really isn't materialistic. I've always lived relatively simply and had little in the way of material possessions. But I worked hard for a long time to buy the appliances to round out my raw food diet. I'm now the very grateful owner of a vitamix blender, greenstar juicer, ex calibur dehydrator, a cuisinart food processor and ice cream maker. They are my tools I use to self-nurture myself to walk a more spiritual path in life. Also, I'm aware of not getting lost in self-absorption and spent a substantial amount of time doing volunteer work helping others, plus I work a normal job.
I drive a vehicle that's almost 20 years old! Extra amazing 'cause it's a Ford. Obviously, you don't need anything other than a knife and a cutting board to do this food plan. but I like to eat! and I love making recipes. I just wanted to share this to give hope to any one else who thinks they can never afford these luxury items. I bought a lot of these when I was so broke that I was living in a travel trailer to save money on rent and walking 1/3 of a mile to use a fridge on my friend's golf course! It's amazing how persistence pays off. Last night I gave the Living on Live Foods book to my boyfriend and told him to pick out a recipe to make- he picked out three! Ah, life is simple but good and spiritually rich.
There are a few more things I want too. The sauerkrat jar that VeganforLife/Lucy brought to our attention. And the set up to do my own micro-greens. I consider this stuff to be an investment in my health and vitality; a better expenditure than buying health insurance, that's for sure.
I just wanted to share my gratitude with you.
