I was looking at Grezzos website and found the following statement:

We do not use dairy, animal products, animal derived products, maple syrup, honey, nutritional yeast, cooked vinegars, canned food or processed ingredients.
I thought maple syrup, honey, nutitional yeast were ok to eat as raw? I have a huge container of nutitionaly yeast and am just confused now. I know honey is actually made from bees but is it ok to eat the Organic Raw Kind: Apitherapy Raw Honey?

Also if vinegars are out - what about Braggs raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar? is that really raw or not?

Any help is great arawciated!

Terri:confused:

Maple syrup is not raw. Honey can be raw, but it's not vegan. Nutritional yeast is not raw but it is considered live. Braggs Cider Vinegar is a live food. I don't know if it is raw or not.

Mmmm... just got a chance to try the ice cream from Grezzo. YUMMY.

I think Julie answered all of your questions... But you can make your own call to include some of those things. We all draw the line somewhere, and it's different for different people.

It's only cooked vinegars that are out! Bragg's -- the unfiltered, raw one -- is definitely OK for their ACV. Their liquid aminos make me feel like poo and supposedly have MSG. I hope that's helpful. :)

Agreed! I personally include all these items in what I consider my raw diet. The way I see it, the more questionable things I include on an occasional basis, the easier it is for me to stick with what I consider all raw all the time.

Honey and nuts together makes my favorite desert.

As to honey being vegan, that is highly subjective. Personally, considering the intellectual level of bees, I feel we are giving them a favor by giving them a place to "work" as working is the only satisfaction they can get in life. There is no moral implications in this, it is the way it is meant to be.

I was wondering how you got Grezzo to Hungery. Looks like you might be back in the States? Florida? You are such a World Traveler. You were in London? a few weeks ago. You are doing RAWmarkable to do all the travel you do and Stay RAW. Be Safe on your Journeys.
