What is the best juicer in your opinion? I'm in the market for a good one and I trust people's opinions and experiences the most.
I learned from my blender experience to buy only the best. :]
Thanks, guys.

I have the Jack Lalanne Power Deluxe. No peeling, no chopping and I easily juice whole apples, cucumbers, carrots, ginger etc. My only issue is that I wish that the pulp was a little drier

It is about a month before my juice feast...I feel so overwhelmed by the amount of juicers out there. Thanks for the suggestion! :)

ive asked questions of hundreds of other raw foodists and read the opinions of many more at forums over the past 4 years and i cant say ive ever heard anyone criticize the omega 8003 , its said to be very easy to clean (a giant factor) , solidly built , very efficient extractor meaning you get alot of juice from the plants and thusly less waste .
it sells on average for 225 , like its at amazon.com that price .
then theres another but way more expensive model thats raved about except for it being a pain to clean . thats the green star at around 400 .

I love my Green Star, love it! Especially so now that I am getting used to using a masticating juicer in general and a Green Star in particular. The pulp is amazingly dry and the quality of the juice is like nothing I've ever had at home before.

I have a Breville Juicer...and it works great for me.
I also don't chop or peel alot of stuff that I cram into it.

I admit that the only issue I have with my Jack Lalanne is the fact that the pulp is a little too wet. I just looked at the Green Star and the spout looks rather small which leads me to believe that there is peeling and chopping involved. Am I right, do you have to peel and or chop your fruits and veggies to juice them?
With the Jack Lalanne I can juice whole fruits and vegetables.

That is what I love about my JL no peeling or chopping.

You don't have to peel but you definitely have to cut your fruit into pieces small enough to fit in the chute. It only takes a second to do though - I don't feel it makes the process any more labor intensive than using a JLL, which we also have here at home.
I started a Green Star thread when I first started using it, because it was so different from what I was used to. Apparently there is an art, too, to cutting your produce to make the Green Star's job easier. I think I am starting to get a feel for it.
It's a different thing entirely, and it definitely takes some getting used to. The JLL is like this wild brute, it's fast and rough, while the Green Star is a precise, careful artisan crafting a beautiful end product. :D
Plus the pusher thingy always gets stuck in the JLL if you don't align it just right. That always annoyed me. :p

All these juicers mentioned are good. The Champion is the most powerful - motor/durability-wise, weighing in at around 33 pounds - twice that of the Greenstar - another outstanding choice.
Chopping fruit/vegs is a minor consideration if you're after durability.
If you want to do wheatgrass, the topend Greenstar is the way to go because it specializes here, using a slower gear to handle wheatgrass. Pricey, but bargains can be found, espec on ebay.
Otherwise, get the Champion and maybe a manual grass juicer. My Champion has lasted 31 years and refuses to die.
If you want some telltale truth in all this, google each juicer's specs and look at the weight!
It speaks volumes about what you're really getting. And if it's quality vs. gadgetry & glitter, as a wise consumer choice, I'd go for the quality.

I, too, have the Champion. My brother-n-law gave it to us about 15 years ago. I must admit that during at least half of that time, it never got much use, but this past year, I have used it a lot. I do have to cut things smaller than maybe some of the other juicers. I haven't really looked at other juicers because I have had this one.

I was actually just looking into getting the JL juicer myself. I really like how you don't have to chop anything. The juicer I have now is fairly old and the chute is small I have to cut everything up and I hate that in the morning. I think if I could just plop everything in there it would cut back on the prep time.
And I just saw an add for it for only $100 right now for an internet special.
I hate trying to figure out what to buy.
