I want to start adding more fresh juices into my diet. I know that they are best right after being made but I work 14hr days most of the time and would like to have some at work!
I know this has to have been asked but I cant find my answer when I search so im sure 1 simple answer will due.
How long can I keep my juice in the fridge?
I basically want to make a batch in the morning and bring it to work in klean kanteens. Will this work out? or does it get yucky? My green smoothies kinda get yucky by the end of the day!

It should be fine. Juice is best when consumed immediately after Juicing but we are finding ways of extending it's life with proper storage/refridgeration. Juice can also be Frozen. I use a container "Lock and Lock" that I purchase from qvc.com and it keep My Smoothies for days when refridgerated. GO SMOOTHIES......

It actually depends on the juicer you use. Most juicers, yes, it should be drunk right away because of the heating/speed/oxidation yet, I know, it'll last most of the day if put in an air-tight container.
Best juicers for full-day juice would be Green Power or Sampson type.
Smoothies can last up to 3 days because they still contain fiber. (Just shake 'em up).

Adding lemon juice to juices helps preserve them longer. It doesn't work for smoothies.

N.Walker says you should keep them for 24 hours (max) but it's definitely better to drink them right away. Enjoy :)

I like to make a juice in the morning and drink it right when it comes out of the juicer and then I'll make a smoothie for later in the day....the smoothie seems to stay nice longer than the juices. The juice I make still tastes good later in the day but there really is a difference in the taste.

I went to a lecture by Cherie Calbom. Her answer to that question was 24 hours, in an airtight container in the fridge. Fill the container to the top, the less air in the container the better. It will lose some potency, but will not spoil. Some juices keep better than others. (If you put cabbage in your juice it must be consumed immediately.) She uses a centrifuge juicer, so do I.

Best for juice 15 minutes then it begins oxidation.
Best for smoothies-3 days as they contain the whole food.
Suggestion...I make juice(greens in blender),drink some after it goes through my nut milk bag and pour all green sludge back in blender ,with whats left of sludge and juice,so all the pulp is in there and save the rest for later. It is all together. Then pour it through nut milk bag when ready to drink.

Not sure where this new age silliness came from about having to drink fresh juice immediately - where is the scientific evidence of that? As far as I'm concerned, if you keep fresh juice from a juicer refrigerated and sealed, it keeps most or all of its nutritional vaule for at least a week.

It starts oxidising the second you start juicing. You want to see how fast it happens then juice an apple. See how quickly the greeny juice turns slightly brown. It's still ok to drink it but oxidising starts a lot sooner than 15 minutes.
