Hello everyone -

I am just a bit discouraged but knew this was going to happen - I am on a blood thinner due to a blood clot almost two years ago and they wont take me off until I become more active and lose some weight - so I started this raw journey or at least got to 85% raw but striving for 100% but while doing this for almost two months - I lost 35 pounds and gained so much energy and blood meds went down twice due to exercise but mainly the raw food because I started and was into it three weeks and then added the gym and went for blood reading and it was sooo thin so know it was mostly the food that helped it - more Vit K..greens etc...

Well since Thanksgiving I have went off this way of eating and exercising -gained only 6 pounds at this point back - was at 16 pounds gained but lost some just by doing juice/water fast for three days etc...but have gotten real tired and had my blood done for my 30 days and I have to increase it one knotch higher and I know because I haven't been raw/exercise - truly more the food for me - knew this was going to happen and expected it to due to messing up...only have to go up .5 but want to go back next week when I follow up bak to what I was at my lowest but have to get refocused and recommitted - I have never seen my meds go down so quick, so much energy and weight loss on any way of eating but this - it truly is the way to live a healthy life...

Now I asked the other day for a swift kick to put me back on track so NOW I am asking for a kick, a push, a smack LOL

I do want this and know I can get right back on track and will - just guess I just needed to vent to my raw friends :)

Anyone know other forms of Vit K & Iron besides brocolli and green lettuce?
Thanks everyone...

Just me sgain :)

Wishing you all the luck to stay on your rawness journey. Put the past behind and look forward to a brand new year and a brand new beginning into raw.

Here is a website that I googled

http://www.nutritiondata.com/foods-011104000000000000000.html?maxCount=330

On the list in order from highest mcg's per serving to lowest were parsley, chard, kale, watercress, spinach, mustard greens, turnip greens, beet greens, collard greens, dandelion greens, and a bit lower down on the rung were cabbage, asparaguc, celery. Most dark greens are high in iron.

So as of right now, I am sending you a swift kick to get you back on track~giggle~you can do it . You have done it before, you just need to sit yourself down and do some soul searching. People go by the wayside with their food, but the best thing is you can always get back on the path to health. Best of luck

You can get back on the wagon! Good health feels and tastes great.

In "Eating for Beauty" David Wolfe states that friendly bacteria in our intestines helps us produce Vitamin K. This diet will help with that and maybe taking probiotics.

In his book he also list these iron-rich foods: sun-chokes, onions, burdock root, cherries, blackberries, colards, young lettuces, nettles, parsley, spinach, shallots, young swiss chard, grasses, most dark green-leafy vegetables, most red-colored berries, sea vegetables.
