i have been researching the medicinal tree mushrooms and i'm thinking of growing them.:D is it ok to make them into a tea as david wolfe claims (as a raw foodist that is)? would i get the same effects if i just ate them raw off the tree or substrate?

Don't know mush about Mushrooms, unless they are already harvested with a for Sale sign. I gress that Movie where they used Mushrooms to Poison Clent Eastwood made a lasting effect on Me. I also see them grow in My yard. But if you are familier with them in your area, go for it. I have Never made a Tea using them.

Certain medicinal compounds in mushrooms must be heat extracted in order to get any benefits. There is no magic number that foods must not be heated above when it comes to eating raw.. Many foods can stand higher temps without harming the good stuff. For example coconut oil can take more heat and remain intact then lettuce! :)

i do know that i have a lot more research to do before i go ahead and start brewing. i will post more when i know more.

i love the analogy about lettuce and coconut too.

i've read that medicinal mushrooms are good antibiotics. they supercharge your immune system better than anything on the planet. i've heard that the tree mushrooms are what chemists mimicked to make pharmaceuticals.

still researching!

I've never tried mushroom tea, but I use other (non-raw) herbal teas. I've tried a raw food diet both with and without herbal teas, and felt better taking certain teas. Experiment and find what works best for you.

No, I think we are discussing medicinal mushroom tea like reishi, cordyceps, shitake and mitaki. (not sure I spelled those right)
