I am so excited, I was shopping this afternoon in our local Central Market grocery store and couldn't believe my eyes! A display with raw food goodies!

As I was filling my cart up one of the gals working there asked if I was on the raw food diet and I said yes. She asked if I had a few minutes because the manager of the department is also on this diet and she thought the manager would like to talk with me about it!

Well we had the best conversation, I told her how nice it was to meet someone in person who was interested in this lifestyle! She opened several packages of foods for me to try (all yummy!) and then gave me the packages for free! How sweet of her and she told me about another gal eating raw foods in another local store that I can also go chat with. I am soooo excited to make these connections and also find some packaged raw foods to buy!

Now they had more than this but what I bought is:
Raweo! by Alive and Radiant Foods
Lucious lemon swirls
Blessing's original coconatty (like a sweet cracker and very delicious!)
Pizazz Plus (a cracker, also very good!)
Blessing's Cherry Vanilla Truffle (haven't tried this yet but was told these are also wonderful)
Mint Carob cookies (don't have the name of them as it was cut off at the store so I could try them!)

And there were other things, crackers and cookies that I will have to try the next time I go shopping. Wow, this is turning out to be a very fun day! I just had to share my enthusiasm and if you have a Central Market near you maybe they have similar products or you could request them. I have ordered some of these online and the prices were much higher than what I paid today. Fun!

Cinnamon, that is great that you not only got to sample some wonderful items, but you made some people connections!

By the way, the raweos, lemon swirl bars and the blessings crackers are outstanding. I love them. I have never tried the other items.

Blessings.

Yea! I will check out it out. I've never gone there, but will now. I've gotten so frustrated lately at going to Smoothie King or other places where they serve smoothies. It seems like it wouldn't be that hard to have some raw ingredients to make a smoothie. At Smoothie King I finally ordered blueberry and pineapple because it was the only "real" fruit they had. As I was drinking it, I thought, I wonder if the pineapple was canned? Oh, well, the search for good raw dishes while out and about continues. I'm glad to hear about Central Market! :D

I am SO excited to even hear that this is taking hold in a mainstream market!!!!!

I hope it spreads !!!!

How great for you !!!!

The next time you speak to that store manager, ask her to spread the word at her next market meeting/seminar/conference. Us rawbies need more access!!!!!

Enjoy every morsel !!!

We have a Central Market here, is it the kind owned by H-E-B or something different? I'm in Texas...

I shop at a Dallas, TX Whole Foods most of the time - it's much closer than the Central Mkt.- so I sent their (WFM) grocery buyer an email about this - in hopes that raw foods will become much more mainstream and accessable.
If enough customers ask, perhaps their needs will be met. It's time for a change in the mainstream market!

congrats on the free samples! :p

Our Central Market is locally owned by a family living on Bainbridge Island. So I'm not sure about other Central Markets but it is sure worth asking if they can carry these products!

The lemon swirl bars are soooo good but those Blessing's Original Coconatty sweet crackers are just the best. I am still so excited at finding these foods locally and also making an in person connection with another raw foodist!

I hope everyone does ask at their local stores and the more we all ask the more mainstream raw foods will be for all of us! The manager also told me that quite a few people had been trying these products out of curiosity. That is good for keeping the sales up and the products in the stores!

I am over in Kitsap County, so in Poulsbo and also on Bainbridge Island. I would think Shoreline might have these products too or would be willing to get them for you!
