Hey all. I went to go make a smoothie this morning. I put in some carrot tops and kale. Somehow the carrot tops and they wrapped themselves so tightly around the little base under the blades. I never had this problem before. My smoothie was ruined and I can't get it all off it's so tightly wound there.

My roomie said he'd try take that container apart so we can clean the blades, my question is can it do that? Or will that ruin it? Is it ruined in general?

Oh one more question. Is it bad to freeze your greens? They go bad so quickly and cost a lot so I started freezing them.

Thanks :)

I have seen on Ebay replacement blades along with the wrench to change the blade with so I am it can be done.

Why not call the customer service department for Vitamix and see what they can advise. Is it still under warranty?

I'd call VitaMix, I have replaced the blade assembly but I would touch base with them on how to do it. Also, I freeze spinach and use it in my smoothies...use it frozen, don't thaw it. Works fine for me...better than wasting greens.

That has happened to me and you need Patience. I just worked on the Greens with a Sharp knife going across the blade and the Greens, them removing some of the Greens until it is FREE......
