Hi, does anyone know what green smoothies recipes would be best for a nursing mom? My daughter's baby is 3 months old and she just started drinking green smoothies cause I bought her a Vitamix for Christmas. YAY !!!and she wanted to know what has the best vitamins and minerals for her and her baby?
Thank you so much for any replies.

Kale is one of the healthiest greens, both curly and 'dinosaur tongue' types. Spinach, chard, romaine lettuce, and collards are all great, too.
Basically any fruit she likes should work and mix well. Just be absolutely sure to use organic fruits and greens, so that the baby won't be exposed to pesticides and toxins. I saw a recent documentary that said the breast milk from the average American woman contains over 280 different toxins. Scary! The greens will help her detox as well. Chlorella and spirulina would be absolutely excellent additions to her nutritional program! Chlorella and cilantro have been shown to remove mercury and other heavy metals from the body.
She should of course check with a naturopathic physician to make sure any of the greens are not too strong for the baby!
I have some green smoothie recipes on my website. My favorites are Liquid Peach Cobbler---peaches, banana, spinach (or other greens), with cinnamon and nutmeg; and Cherry Bomb---organic frozen cherries, pineapple, and greens. Super YUM!
Blessings to your daughter and her beautiful baby!

I have been high raw since my baby was 4 months old. I use whatever fruit I want and add tons of spinach or kale. I will occasionally use parsley or sprouts too. I usually add the sprouts when I feel like I need more protein. My baby is 1 year and 1 month now.
