Does the brand name matter for these? What about bee pollen or spirulina? All created equal? For the oils, is there any benefit to the actual oil over pill form? Will the high fat content make me gain weight? So far, I am leaning towards the Barleans high lignan oil/pills. (mom had breast cancer)

I tried Barleans Forti-Flax and mixed it in a smoothie and almost puked. No way I can do that stuff...yet anyways. Hoping pill form will suffice...thanks everyone :)

As this is a raw vegan board, fish oils wont be discussed ~ at least publicly.

You'll probably get a variety of answers to those questions. I don't think anyone here has tried so many brands they can give you an answer and even if they have, that would still be one or two peoples' preferences.

You really don't need to use oils like that at all yet, if you choose to, find what you like and use that.

I go to a fantastic holistic MD and he highly recommends Barlean's High Lignan Flax Oil. Be sure and look at the pressing date and try to get it as fresh as possible.

Because we're in WA state (so is Barlean's), he has it flown in. Then he keeps them in the freezer and advises us to do the same. You can set it out on the countertop for about 15 minutes and you're good to go, it will squirt out. The pressing date on his is just 1-2 weeks out. Compared to our local HFS which is several weeks out...

Hope this helps! *Ü*

Is it bad to let it thaw and freeze repeatedly though?

Omega-3s do really well in the cold. It's OK to freeze and thaw repeatedly.
