I want to try Dr Bonners soap as a toothsoap and I know that Trader Joes has their own brand of castile soap. Just wondered if anyone knew if it was comparable to Dr Bonners and the glycerin level was low enough. Has anyone used this instead?
Thanks!

Oooooh, I love Dr. Bronner's. Would love to brush teeth with it if it's good to use that way.

Azeats, you should just ask them how much glycerin and what the ingredients are.

Dr. Bronner's has toothsoap? Or, do you guys just use the liquid soap for everything?

Just the regular liquid Dr Bonner's and I have to say that the first time I used it I didn't know if I could keep doing it. It did feel like I washed my mouth out with soap! So I mixed it with coconut oil and some peppermint, much better. I just thought that I could save a lot of money since Trader Joes is so much less expensive.

Is Tom's of Main (organic, no flouride formula) a healthy toothpaste? I've been using it for a few months and I like it because it doesn't have flouride in it. I never thought of tooth soap. What are the advantages of tooth soap over toothpaste? I want to make sure that I'm healthy as possible, so I'd love to know more on this.

I have used the liquid version of his soap as a toothpaste- at first it was weird for me because yes it was like washing your mouth out with soap (I think I used too much)
here is from his site:

I'm pretty sure the answer to that is no. Does it have glycerin of any kind? If so, it's not good.

I've used the TJ's soap before because I imagined it would be the same...same ingredients for MUCH, MUCH lower..it was not:(! and I only used it on my body and hair. the concentration must be different because it didn't last as long as the same amount of Dr B's would have
that Dr. B's is NASTY as toothsoap!!! lol, but I still do it-will try to add some coconut oil as suggested, thanks

I used the DB and liked it. A bit soapy if you get too much, but feels really clean afterward.
