Hi Raene,
I'm 18 weeks preg and around 95% raw (the small amount of cooked is mostly vegan).
I'd be delighted to share experiences.
Best,
Nicky

Hi Raene and Nicky,

I am 100% most of the time (although severe nausea has caused me to sway a little to non raw vegan foods at times). I am 15 weeks.

Hi

I am also mostly 100% raw (sometimes I have steamed or baked veggies or miso soup but not too often) I am 8 weeks.

It sounds like you are all doing great! Keep up the wonderful job. I know its hard sometimes to stick to 100% raw but it is worthed.

Hi Raene,

I'm getting back there! I was eating cooked vegan foods and even some dairy (eek!) but I'm back 100% raw as of yesterday evening. I guess I'm on here for some support too. I'm sure you are doing great! I wish I had had the willpower to stay 100% raw since the beginning of the pregnancy- even though I'm "on track" weight wise (per the typical cooked scale) i know I could have done so much better. I've gained about 12 lbs, but I really think that I only needed to gain about 6.... I'm hoping this last 20 weeks will make up for the first 20 weeks.

Good luck! Keep us updated on your progress!

Sorry I haven't updated in forever. I fell off the bandwagon b/c raw food sounded inedible to me in my days of morning sickness. I was in bed 2 days, unable to eat anything raw, so therefore eating nothing, and then I decided I'd better eat *something* even if it wasn't raw b/c I was already very underweight and was losing too much.
I have been cooked ever since and I'm now at week 18. I eat lots of fruit and greens are finally okay to eat again (they were sounding so bad for a while) but I'm nowhere near raw anymore. I hope to be raw again after pregnancy, but I don't want to risk detoxing during pregnancy. I'm having a more difficult pregnancy this time with quite a scare at week 13 and things are not as I'd planned at all. Going raw again, when it's the right time, will be really great.

When I was pregnant with my daughter I was raw. It's actually how I was introduced into it. At first I couldn't keep down meat. So I stopped eating it. Then I couldn't keep down cooked or steamed veggies. A friend of mine told me about raw foods and I started doing research. I began eating raw and after that I had the BEST pregnancy EVER! Way better than my pregnancy with my son (durring that pregnacy I lived off of McDonnalds, pizza, and ice cream).

I used to joke that I had the "happy hormones" from being raw. lol I was happy, full of energy, healthy (when pregnant with my son I was sick constantly. With my daughter I didn't get sick at all), and felt so good. I didn't have mood swings or unhealthy cravings (I craved raw foods. One day I ate a pound of carrots because I was craving them). My ankles didn't swell until my 8th month and even then it was only a little bit. I did prenatal yoga and just felt sooo good.

I was concerned that I wouldn't get enough protien and nutrients so I logged on fitday.com everything I ate. Eventually I stopped because I found that I was getting everything I needed between the raw food and the prenatal vitamins. In most cases I was getting way more than I needed. lol

*hugs*
