Wish someone would invent one already. Would be great if it could clean the produce too, but can't have everything. :p

It is a lot of work. Still toying with taking my juicer back and looking to ebay for a vitamix. Understand they will pulverize pretty darn good.
But I am enjoying the fresh juices even with all the work.

I would love a self cleaning juicer.. I've only used my new juicer once and I was shocked at all the contraptions you have to take apart and clean!! Is it bad to juice throughout the day and clean at the end? I would hate to make myself sick but seriously it's ridiculous! :)

My brand new Christmas present juicer seems very easy to clean to me. Yeah there are a lot of parts but they just rinse off so easily. I would think leaving it till the end of the day would be not such a good idea because the bits would dry on the machine and be much harder to clean off.
That said, I know my son and husband will rarely use it because they will think it is a pain to clean. Seriously maybe 5 minutes max and that's rinsed and dried and put away.

Usually the ones that are easier to clean are a pain in prep and assembly. Like having to cut produce into tiny bits.
Pixelkatt, I've heard of people not cleaning till the end of day. The mesh pulp basket (if you have one) may be the only thing difficult unless you rinse in-between.
Just want quick and easy juice, like quick smoothies, soups and pretty much all other meals. Love my Vitamix. Wish it had a juice attachment. I know you can use the strainer bags, but don't find that better than using a juicer. Oh well, I'll figure out how to incorporate juicing daily at some point.

I didn't even think about that! You are absolutely right.. cleaning dried bits would be much more difficult, lol.. And you are right ..it doesn't take a lot of time, it's just lots of parts. :) No biggie.. maybe I was just expecting it to be like my blender, lol.. take it off and rinse and put it back.

Yes, this part was tough without it sitting for awhile, although I did carrots.. maybe that's more work..

I would LOVE to get a Vitamix.. :o) Someday... Someday.. la la.. :) okay, now just being silly. Thinking maybe if I sing it, it will come true, lol..

When I am juice feasting thats what I do. I set it up in the morning and juice all day and then wash it just before bedtime. When I juice feast the juicer use is so frequent that the food dosn't dry onto the parts. I tend to make frequent small batches of juice. The juice digests very fast so I make up another small quantity juice every 20 to 30 minutes or so.

I find that the quickest and easist thing to do is to give my juicer a quick rise right after juicing (I have a Green Star). If the pulp is still wet is comes off pretty quick. I can disassemble it and clean it in under two minutes. I have gotten pretty fast at taking it apart and putting it back together again.

Wow! It was my first time today, but cleaning and reassembling my Green Star took me a good 15 minutes. :o

Wow! I have never juice feasted.. kind of want to try it but I always thought I wouldn't get enough nutrients, but if I would be drinking every 20 or 30 minutes then I think I would be really full (and get all the nutrients I need)! :D How many fruit and veggies do you go through when you juice feast (per day)? I just juiced 6 carrots and 2 apples and I'm full already.
..and I agree.. if I was using it every 30 minutes or so I would only clean it once a day..:) ..and cleaning it for the second time was much easier than the first.. I guess I didn't account for the confusion, lol..

I use more produce on a juice feasting day then a regular day of some of each: juice, blended, and whole foods. But it isn't that much more because I make very small quantities many times a day. A typical juice might be one apple, or it might be two carrots or even one carrot if I'm just walking by the juicer and decide I want a little refreshment.
I have found that the juicer cleans easiest when it is done promptly after making the juice. I always make my juice and drink it as fresh as possible. Then right after drinking the juice, while the pulp is as moist as possible as annavon posted above, I get right back to the juicer and clean it so that the cleaning workload is minimal. That cleaning only happens once a day on juice feasting days so juice feasting days are kind of like mini vacation days. :)

I have an Omega, and I have it cleaned and reassembled in less than 5 minutes. Unless you have a Breville (not recommended), you have to prep vegetables. It makes no difference to me, if I cut a piece of veg once or twice. I just prep all my stuff in a few minutes, push it through the juicer, and have it cleaned up before I even drink my juice, or do it while I drink it. No big deal. Cooking is far more work, and it's not like you throw whole vegetables in a pot. You have to wash and chop them as well.

I have a Breville and used to hate cleaning it until I realized how easy it is if I don't wait until the end of the day to clean. Since I work all day, when I make juice in the mornings, I fill the sink with water and place the parts in water to soak while I'm at work. It's as simple as rinsing when I return from work. I take my juice to work in jars.
