Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if any of you guys make up smoothies in the morning that you then take to work for lunch. If so what combinations do you find keep well. Do they change colour (bananas, apples, pears I think turn a bit brown)and if so does that affect the taste?

Adding a little lemon juice should slow down the oxidation (I believe the vitamin C sacrifices itself for the purpose).

Whatever container you use ( a thermos flask would be ideal to keep heat to a minimum, maximizing preservation of the juice/smoothie), try to ensure that you fill it completely and ensure it is sealed airtight. Filling to the top will minimize the quantity of oxygen available in the container to cause damaging oxididation of the nutrients.
