I'd like to try them - in their natural form. I looked through the internet, but can't seem to find information that doesn't pertain to some processed acai berry drink.
Is anyone aware of a means of obtaining the actual berries?

The Berrie is hard to take out of the area Whole and Fresh. It has No Shelf Life. That is why they discovered the way of cooking it which enabled them to transport it out of Brazil and Share it with the World.

That totally stinks. :)
What I'd give to try a fresh juicy acai...
I think I had an acai pudding in Brazil before I went raw that was really sweet. I'll be there for about 10 weeks from February to April... I would LOVE to have them fresh while I'm there! :) If I remember, I'll report back!
Haha, could be a good excuse for a trip to Brazil! ;)

Well it's not the whole berry, but Amazon Mania puts out an unpasturized frozen Acai product that I've been using for quite awhile. They are the only unpasturized one out there. I toss one in my green smoothie and feel great.
My HFS quit carrying the product for awhile and I requested a special order and bought half the case when it came in (that's all the room I had in my freezer).

i thought of this post today when i was at whole foods... they had frozen goji berries, maybe you can look forward to widely available frozen acai in the next few years as they get more popular?

I suppose you are right...I will definitely look for this, as acai gains popularity...
