Hello,
I am new to the whole RAW food scene and have an intolerance to nuts. Is there anything else to replace them with? Especially in cakes!!
Cheers!:)

Hi! I Sarah.
I am about 2 months RAW? eh not really counting. I am HIGHLY allergic to nuts, Within 2 feet of peanut butter I start to react.
It has been REALLY tough. Are you just starting? If so, I would highly suggest trying to keep it simple. Because of my Allergy, Looking at nut filled recipes made me REALLY depressed. Keep a lot of avocado in your diet, they are very satiating!
You can contact me at any time if you have any more questions! or just need support!

:D you are very welcome. I don't eat any nuts either and don't miss them. You don't really NEED any nuts imho. Enjoy the coconut :)

I'm not much into recipes but some people like using sunflower seeds for making cakes.....or almonds......perhaps some pumpkin seeds as well? I don't know....but sunflower seeds are the ones the frugal foodies use because the nuts are to expensive. Have fun :)

I substitute sunflower seeds a lot.
They say (the ones that know these things) that once your body is totally clean, all mucous gone, and has been that way for a while, allergies disappear. Something for you to look forward to.

I read Chef Russell James is looking to create more recipes WITHOUT nuts. I have plenty here, but may return some to Costco. Do I really need that many? Probably not. I'm trying to eat on the "light side." Thanks for all the tips shared: coconut....interesting...didn't think of that before and love them. Need hubby now to open for more "coconut water." He thinks he can open it better than me so it's his job now.

SEEDS! Sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, hemp seeds, flax seeds, and my favorite...chia seeds!!!!!!!!
What about pine nuts? They seem more like a seed than a nut.
