surfing?

We just had our first surfing lesson! I know, its kind of cliché. We move to CA and take up surfing, but hey... When in Rome do what the Romans do, right?

I called an old friend from Ca that i used to know out here who is an extreme surfer. He used to love my food so we traded. He took us out for a lesson and we are hooked! Dennis is in love with it! (He looks very cute in his wet suite so i figured i couldnÂ’t let him out into the waters alone ;)
Anyone else surf?
We are going today to get boards and suits today, any tips for us newbies?

The closest I ever got to surfing was to touch someone else's board ...

Being a native Hawaii girl myself, you'd think I'd surfed, but the closest I ever got was riding my dad's board with him when I was a little girl. It's one of those things I've always wanted to do, though, so who knows!
