Does anyone know anything about this spice? I've been reading some things about it on the internet, as a healer of many things. Does it take care of constipation?
Any thoughts would be helpful. And, Merry Christmas to all.:)

Turmeric is mainly an anti inflammatory. It also has cancer fighting and immune-boosting powers.
For constipation just eat lots of raw vegetables and drink water. To get things going you might want to take same psyllium or other natural fiber concoction.

I have a serious back condition and use turmeric daily for inflammation. You can buy the fresh root in some stores. For constipation water w/lemon, pears, apples and prunes...yup...really works~

I love tumeric. When I broke my knee it really helped with the inflammation....similar to ginger root. I still add it to my smoothies from time to time - it mixes well with a bit of raw cacao powder or maca. Makes it a bit spicier than ginger just in case you're sensitive to very hot spices. It also adds a nice yellow color to dishes, similar to cumin if you're being creative in the raw food kitchen. :)
I saved this link after doing some research on tumeric. You might find the info helpful:

i purchase the root at my food co-op. check near the produce section - usually it's located there. generally close to the ginger root in most natural foods stores. farmer's markets usually have it too. asian markets definately. last resort whole foods might have it? or order on-line.
