Hello,
Just started my 30 day challenge. Yes, on Christmas. A big reason for going raw is to deal with my migraine headaches. However, in ditching the coffee, I'm suffering terribly. I can barely function, concentrate, or even see. I'm attempting to do this w/o taking my normal migraine meds so I'm not just squelching the problem temporarily (seems to be what I've read I should be doing).
Are there any juices or foods I can eat to help this? I own a business and am extremely busy this time of year - too busy to be non-functional.
Thanks,
Queenie

I don't know if this will help or not, but prior to going raw a few years back, I used to suffer from chronic headaches...sometimes migraines. Doing enemas helped me immensely. You're helping to move those toxins OUT of your body.
Another suggestion is to drink green smoothies as they will also help sweep your colon out. The important thing here is proper elimination. Even if you cannot or do not feel comfortable doing enemas, perhaps a colon cleansing product such as this - click here (http://eatlivingfood.com/oxypowder) - may be an option as well.
Some also choose to gradually wean themselves off of coffee for this very reason, using things such as Teechino (herbal-based coffee replacement drink) so that may be an option you wish to weigh as well. You have to go about this journey the best way it fits you and your lifestyle.
Hope you're feeling better soon!

thank you! I have actually considered going for a colonic but am nervous about it...perhaps I'll try the enema first and see how that goes.
After eating 3 clementines, the headache seems to be much "softer" - who knows.

Prior to going raw, I likewise suffered from daily headaches and frequent migraines that left me in a state of perpetual misery.
However, after I went on high raw (which I define as 75% or more raw foods in my daily intake), I had to suffer through at LEAST one huge migraine that can last for days.... after that, once it's over - it's OVER.
I don't get headaches again unless extreme circumstances occur, or I eat something cooked.
MORE GREENS - LESS FRUIT!!!! :)
I suggest two excellent books for you:
GREEN FOR LIFE, by Victoria Boutenko
RAINBOW GREEN LIVE-FOOD CUISINE, by Gabriel Cousins, MD

as a former coffee drinker and a former migraine sufferer (we're talkin' 8 hours a day, every single day), i can tell you - IT WILL GET BETTER!!!!
drink lots of water.
if you drink green juices, fennel is supposed to help.
get as much rest as you can.
then more water. :)
it'll get better after 3 days!!! you'll feel so much better once you're through it!

Feel great. Never had that problem but still cheering you on to victories expressed here. I'm certain once you get through the detoxing you'll be so much better off and can help many in that situation. Keep up the great work! You can do it! We're cheering behind ya!

I agree with Raw'. Enemas or colonics to release the toxins more quickly. You'll probably be amazed. Eating food to alleviate is only like a band aid.
