Can anyone tell me if have "green Turds":) means I do not have enough Hydrocholoric acid in my stomach. I read in "green for life" that if you eat red beets and poop red, that your stomach doesn't have enough of the acid. Is this true for the chlorophyll as well? Or does all of you raw foodist/green smoothie eaters have green turd too. Sorry to talk about poop in my first question..But It's been months since being on green smoothies and I thought that this would eventually go away. I read in another raw food book that poop is suppose to be light-brown. Is this true? or are there different opinions on what is normal.
Thanks for anyones help..

Probably differences of opinion. I have green when I eat green; red when I eat red. For me, worrying about the color of my bm's is almost as detrimental as not having them ~ which could stop one from having them. Personally, I'm of the "better out than in" crowd ~ no matter the color, size, shape, floaters or not, etc. Just fill the bowl and be done with it.

I don't care really either about color but I read in 'green for life' that if you poop out red (from beets) it means you do not have enough hydrocholoric acid in your stomach. But eventually after being on green smoothies for a few months that red should not happen anymore. I haven't had beets in a while so I haven't tested it. But I figure if the acid in the stomach takes care of the red it should probably take care of the green. I read in Tonya Zavastas book that poo should be light brown. So this leads me to wonder if my stomach acid is off still after being on mostly greens for months. I am very thin and would like to gain some weight. I read that not enough of the hydrocholoric acid can prevent you from absorbing the nutrients and from gaining weight. I had this problem long before going 90% raw. So basically I'm looking for someone with any added info on Hydrocholoric acid in the stomach. I haven't gotten any of Alyssa's books yet..and wonder if she touches on this subject and what her views are. I'd love to hear what she thinks..
Merry Christmas everyone!

"Green for Life" is just a book, not gospel. She is not a scientist. I have plenty of hydrochloric acid in my stomach, yet when I eat beets I poop and pee red. Lots of greens always make my bm's green. It's natural. Don't worry about it. Revvell is absolutely right: better out than in. If you are really worried about stomach acid, drink a tablespoon of unpasteurized apple cider vinegar in some water (with honey if you like) before every meal. ACV is an old home remedy, good for all sorts of things.

Poop is always green, however if it is in the bowels long enough it turns the normal brown. If you ate too much it will stay green as your body is trying to get the excess waste out as quickly as possible. If you ate a lot, not too much to worry about. If it isn't being accompanied by constipation/ diahreah then I wouldn't worry about it.
