Hi, My husband and I are just starting. We have Alissa's book and dvd, bought a food processor, Blendtec and are going to do the 30 day challenge when the dehydrator arrives next wed. We have made a few recipes but my husband is concerned about getting bored with the raw diet and wondered if many men age 50 and up do raw or is it mostly women. We are looking for more recipes for entree meals for him. Can anyone help and give encouragement please!? Thanks :D

Congratulations on your Choice to go RAW. You have made such a WISE Choice and have armed yourself with some of the Best tools available, Alissa's Book.
The 30 Day Challenge is a RAWsome experience, you will learn much. I would also advise you to take a Class from one of Alissa's Certified Teachers in your area. They have hands on Classes where you Prepare RAW and you are able to Experience RAW LIVE.
He will Never get bored with RAW. Staying and participating with this Forum is one of the Best thing you can do to keep yourself Motivated.
As with Everything.....WOMEN are the Forerunners but there are So many Men in RAW. There are Several on this Forum but you know Men....they don't like to talk a lot. There are Men Chef and Authors on RAW.
Do a "SEARCH" at the top of this page, it can be a Big assist to you as well as asking questions.
I wish you everything you need to Stay RAW.............Welcome to MY World.

The good news is that the more you eat RAW, the more you'll want to eat RAW! Whatever used to have such appeal sort of fades into memory, but not yearning. Congratulations on having made such a good choice for yourselves.

I could not agree more. There are alot of great recipes in Alissa's book along with tons of others that have great, simple recipes that taste great just Alissa's. Rawvolutions, Raw Food Real World are two of my other fall back books, of course Alissa's was my first and will always be #1.
I wish you all the best on your raw journey.

You might want to check out the book "How We All Went Raw" by the Nungessers, two brothers (and a sister, too, I believe) who share some hearty raw recipes. Great little book! And, of course, Alissa's book has some very filling recipes in it.

You're welcome. Try the Spanish Rice with extra avocado smashed on top. You and your hubby will love it!

Go to the recipe section and start reading. In a lot of the posts you will find links to other forums and blogs, and pretty soon you find such a wealth of information and recipes that you wonder how you will ever be able to make it all.

Try Alissa's Pad Thai. If you don't like bean sprouts, make zucchini and yellow squash "pasta." A lot of people like to use a spiralizer, but I just use my food processor - quicker and easier. That recipe will convince him, I'm thinking! Good luck.

valerie1969 (shazzie's channel)
feralfoods
aniphyo

karenknowler
GreenMonkey
americanyogini (just started, but already has some great ideas)

I find watching videos SO HELPFUL! even if you want something simple like how to open a coconut, avocado etc, just type it into youtube and most likely you'll fine it.

I love YouTube for this, too. I save a LOT of money on DVD's! Love Ani Phyo! Wish Alissa would do this! Also, check out Raw Chef Dan. Gotta love him!

What a fun thing to do with your husband.....sharing raw together. My husband isn't raw but he eats everything I fix him and even says he's missing having salad when I don't make one for a few days.....so eventhough he isn't raw, he really does eat alot more raw foods than the average person.

Thank you to the originator of this post and all that responded. I am somewhere near the beginning of the raw lifestyle; this is helpful. :)
