I need to brush my dogs teeth daily but with what?
I don't like most of the dog toothpastes on the market, even the natural ones seem to have questionable ingredients and it makes more sense, to me, just to make my own.
Obviously it has to be very safe ingredients as dogs swallow it all.

I experimented using baking soda, pascalite clay and GSE, but then I just read baking soda is harmful for dogs (oh no!).

Some other ideas, but I am unsure of their safety:
Collodial silver?
Salt?
Coconut oil?

CAN ANYONE OFFER SOME HELP?

Do you let him chew on bones or almonds in the shell? Our Beagle loves chomping on nuts in the shell. Is it mainly for cleaning or breath? Because a little chlorella a few times per week does a good job with bad breath. :)

Kiss Able from Cain and Able seems pretty decent.

Doing a quick internet search, I found this:

Try wetting a facecloth and use your finger to gently massage the teeth and gums. You can use chicken broth or tuna juice or something like that to make it more appealing, especially when your dog is new to this. Always treat after.

An old toothbrush with the tasty liquid will work too. Let him chew on it while you hold it and praise him when he chews. Some dogs will resist letting you do the brushing, but will gladly do the brushing themselves. Don't let his sharp teeth cut through the bristles if you can help it.
