Hiya!

I have a Hamilton Beach 12 Speed Blender/Food Processor, model 52254, that I have only used a handful of times to make some smoothies.

Does anyone know if this can blend almonds? I want to make my own almond milk but I don't want to break the machine in the process! It is 400W ~ 50-60HZ.

Also, I don't have a nut bag...can I use cheesecloth instead?

Any suggestions for what to do with the pulp that is left over? . . . I do have a new dehydrator I need to break in! :)

Thank you!!!

I'm not sure if it will "blend" almonds. It will probably fine chop them. You really do need a blender to "blend". I'm surprised you were able to make smoothies with it.

WAIT!!!! If you have enough water, it's like 3:1 (3 being almonds, 1 being water), then it should be fine!!!

The leftover pulp can be dehydrated and then ground fine and frozen for future use as a "flour".

And if you don't have a nut bag? Use and old (clean) pair of panty hose, or a paint strainer bag. They both work and are cheap!

Just soak them. I take the skin off after I soak them, add some water. You can always add water later if you want. An easy to get rid of the pulp is to put it into a Smoothie.
