I could almost cry right now and I don't want to quit because I am LOVING everything about going raw. I'm just on day four and apparently (from what I have researched just in the last two days) I have either anal fissures or hemorroids. I've never been diagnosed with either but it's the only thing that fits. Now I am remembering why I quit doing this other times...because it causes diarrhea/soft stools which gives me horrible stinging pain right after a bowel movement AND debilitating/I can't even walk around pain for about 15-20 minutes after. I never have issues with this on a SAD diet because my stools were always big and .... SAD :) I guess. I don't know how I would go back to work and deal with this. I really need help here.

The irony is that if I do have one of those, all the detoxes FOR them require exactly what I am doing which cause the pain=eating tons of fiber.

Have any of you experienced this? I read a few posts but none of them really got to an answer. I stopped the nuts and tahini today but it's still killing me after I go.

I have NO other side effects so far. This feels really RIGHT for me. I am overweight and definitely have lots of toxins to release.

Here's what I have eaten in the last four days:

Bananas
Kale
Romaine
Tahini
Walnuts
Almonds
Apples
Oranges
Grapes
Zuchini
Cucumbers
Tomats
Rasberries
Lemon Water
Parsley
Avocados
TONS of water

?????? I will be checking back for advice all night since I really don't feel like I can go anywhere right now!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I AM SO EXCITED AND INSPIRED FOR SO MANY REASONS AND I DONT WANT TO STOP.

Sounds like toxins are leaving your body. Do you have any apple cider vinegar?....if yes than take a hot bath with 1 cup of apple cider vinegar added to it to help with the sting. When you go potty try wiping gently wiping with a wet tissue instead of dry - this may be less irrating.

Loss stools only lasted for me the first week, after that everything is good.

before you know what ;) use toilet paper or q-tip to put alot of vaseline you no where :o:cool:
it'll make the usage of tp less abrasive on the problem area and greatly reduce pain

and ide consider doing a juice fast in order to remove solids from the tract thusly allowing the problem area to heal quicker , plus speed up the cleansing out of whatever your bodies flushing out thats causing the you know what

juice fasting site = www.juicefeasting.com .

and if go on a liquid / juice diet a good drink i like is almond milk with carob powder / bananas / and a sweetner . i cheat with pure maple syrup at times cuz taste so good ands natural product

I just love the thread title. You win.

Maybe drinking more water will help? Take it easy and get lots of rest when you're starting out. It could also be stress.

Thanks you two. I already feel better just talking about it. Whew. I do have some vaseline so I will try that and then just juicing starting now since that what my body FEELS like doing more of anyway. I have been taking baths after but I just hope it isn't this painful when I go back to work in a week. I hope it detoxes fast and goes FAR FAR away.

I guess if that's my ONLY negative thing so far, it's not that bad. Everything else seems just right so I will also try to focus on those things. Maybe some magic can happen!

Thanks a ton.

Well I figured I would get right to the point with the title! I feel like I need a nap after just short walks (yes I'm eating plenty) so I'm just going to take them now. I'm doing this cold turkey (I was not a veggie or vegan or an athlete before) so I think my body is spending enough energy on managing the change right now! Say a prayer for my butt tonight!

Thanks!

...ohhhhh, ouch! WHen I was first transitioning to Raw, I also had soreness in that area...I used Tucks Hemmoroid {sp?} cream, even though I didn't have history of hemmorroids {however it is spelled!}, I did have itching and soreness...eventually went away.....if I go off Raw and do a high cleanse food plan...I sometimes have to still use the cream though.......

definately stay on the raw. use the vaseline before, and wet wipes after, the flushable, unscented kind and be gentle. this too shall pass. (pardon the pun, couldn't resist )

Okay. The vaseline (big time)/wet TP and then JUMPING FRANTICALLY INTO A BATH IMMEDIATELY AFTER worked better.

Then I am sooo dehydrated and exhausted from my "release" (i seriously love it that it's called that on here) that I have to down ten gallons of water and call it a night.

Whew. Now or never. Thanks for the advice. Day 5 tomorrow. I'm visualizing that my little butt sores will go away by day 8. I will laugh about it, give you an update and it will never return.

Aside from the tips already given to you, you might need to prop your feet up on something like a short stool or a stack of books or yellow pages. This will put your body in more of a "squatting" position which may take some of the pressure off of your bum. They say we weren't designed to "go" in a sitting position, so that might help as well.

Also, try to find a squirt bottle and fill it with warm water (and maybe some witch hazel) and use that to rinse yourself so you don't need to wipe as much and when you do, try to dab and not actually wipe as to not further irritate the situation...even if you have to fill up, rinse until empty and then fill again and repeat. I learned all these little "tricks" during my child bearing days and having to deal with a sore bum from hemorrhoids and stitches (sorry for the TMI).

Ohhh...and one other thing...make sure you are thoroughly chewing your food before swallowing especially when you eat nuts! Just use your imagination (undigested nuts exiting an already sore hiney) and you'll know why I say this! ;)

I would replace the vaseline with RAW coconut oil. Something is miraculous about the raw coconut oil with burning sensation and it cured it in no time.

I really feel also, that this won't last. Remember you had that stuff in you, you want that out. If you can buy only organic food and most preferable from your local farmer that don't use pesticide etc....

I pray for you that you transition as painless as possible.

p.s Make green smoothies, it will help your guts!

My advice is to eat lots of healing non-acidic foods right now. Juicing, as mentioned, is great. Never heard of the coconut oil used anally, but hey if it works!

Definitely sounds like a detox to me. Monitor your stools. If they are black, see a doc (sign of internal bleeding).

As for foods, it looks like you are consuming some acidic foods there which may upset your system at this initial stage. Try green juices for a little while (mild greens, such as spinach, lettuce, romaine) and lay off the citrus for a little while. I know little ones get very sore inside and out when they eat too much citrus and acidic or sugary food, and it's my gut feeling (pardon the pun) that this may be aggravating your issue more than need be.

Hope you feel better asap!

Coconut oil.or...Avena Botanicals has an ointment called Hemorrhoid Salve which has Jt. John's Wort, Calendula,Yarrow and Witch Hazel in organic olive oil. It is very healing.

Okay! I'm doing all that!

Just moved a stool under the toilet cause I did notice that when I was pushing it would hurt more.

I'm SO glad I posted. Close call to quitting the best thing ever cause other than that, HOLY POOP do I feel good!

Thank you!!!

I had a similar problem. It was painful, like needles down there. I reappropriated this spray I'd bought from a natural pet store that was meant as relief for my dog from flea bites. It has msm, aloe vera and tea tree oil. I'd spray down there and got immense relief with it.

Read this and "assume the position" (but be careful not to fall in). Someone wrote about this in another thread on this forum.

I also heard tomatos can really irritate.

Good luck.

i bought one of these three years ago. a stool is good too as rawkinlocs mentioned, but if you ever want to invest in a welles step they're great. slides right under the toilet.

Coconut oil is even more healing, soothing and cool feeling than the vaseline (more natural too) although it may not stay as long. And take some probiotics. :)
