I have quite a few fast under my belt. I have done MC and juice fasts. I have never done a water fast. I am noticing as of late when I drink my distilled water my stomach starts to really hurt. This has never happen before with my other fasts.
Also I have this feeling of...I don't know how to describe it. It's like when you had eaten to much and there feels like there is something stuck in your throat and you think burping will clear it but it doesn't. Maybe it feels like indigestion. This is also new.
Any ideas on what this may be?

Thanks!!
Michele

a detox. When you do a water fast you give your body an opportunity to spring-clean the whole house :) Just relax and enjoy this time as much as you can. Keep warm and go to bed whenever you feel tired. Take a nice warm bath or do something else nice. This did always help me with my sore tummy: lie down on your belly, take deep breaths and relax.Take care, Eva

are you drinking your water cold? perhaps try having it at room temp or warmed.

ditto aleesha. i highly recommend drinking water at room temp., because your body will just be working OT, if you drank hot or cold.

also, you are probably expelling some toxins into your blood right now. keep yourself as comfortable as you can until it goes. rest as much as you can. i don't recommend much activity during a water fast unless it makes you smile or laugh. :)

Well I was put in the hospital. Now I must say this..I DO NOT BLAME THE WATER FAST FOR THIS!!! I still have a big whole in my ass for being chewed out from the medical staff about my fast. I'm sorry to have let everyone down and give people that do not understand the healing power of a fast yet another opportunity to bash it.
At first they thought it was my gall bladder and they were gonna take it out but they settled on viral.
I have been very blessed as I was in extreme stomach pain and vomiting blood.
I know one thing you sure lose your dignity in a hospital.
My dad who is a minister and have done tons of fast made sure that this eposoide has not scared me from future fast. As I say Heck No!! I will never stop my fasting lifestyle.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!!
Love

Poor thing. I sure hope you are feeling better. The gallbladder is an easy operaton for doctors and they like to do it. The more they do, the faster they can get that vacation house in Hawaii. Nobody needs their gallbladder removed. People need to eat healthy food, that's all. The viral thing can happen to anybody. Our food and water supply is awful. I am on a community well that gets checked regularly, but I distill all my drinking water. The only time I used regular water was when I used to cook things like pasta and potatoes, beans, etc., and even then I put the water through the Brita filter first.
Your father is a wise man!
Take care of yourself.

i am so glad to hear you are doing better. wow your symptoms didn't sound that bad in the written word. (((hugs))) obviously much worse in real life though.

there is a place for the medical community... unfortunately though they tend to stop healing rather than promoting more often than naught.

Well I am going to jump back on the fasting wagon. Since my little mishap with the water fast (being hospitalized) I am going to do MC and then juices.
Will be searching for lemons today and will start tomorrow.
I can find lemons this time of year right? Price will most likely be outrageous.
I am excited!

Michele,

I too have had that feeling. Sometimes it comes and goes, though the longer I am on raw, the less I have it. I was thinking that maybe it had something to do with my thyroid. I was reading about thyroid and I think difficulty swallowing and that feeling that something is stuck there are symptoms of a thyroid issue. It is a horrible feeling and one that started me on my raw journey.
