as well?

Even though I haven't been 100 percent raw until today, I have found that on the days I am at 100, I have this sick, vomiting feeling in my stomach. I haven't vomited from the feeling but just want to be sure this is a sign of detox as well...because I am starting to have that same feeling today but am going to stick it out without reaching for anything not raw to comfort the feeling...

It can be detox but it can also be low blood sugar. I am slightly hypoglycemic at times and find that a piece of fruit perks me back up quickly.

I agree with Walkin'onWater that it can be detox. However, I would ask first what it is you've eaten that give you that feeling.

For example, when I first started, I made the Fettucini Alfredo and also the Date Nut Torte and both of them made my stomach hurt. I do not have a sensitive stomach. But, both are very nut-heavy, so my body was telling me not to eat that many nuts right then.

Can you link it to what you ate? Or ... a time of day? Or ... a certain amount of time since you ate?

Hmmm...I would really have to think on that one. A few times, I've gotten that feeling in the mornings (and I will usually eat bananas in the morning) and sometimes I've gotten that feeling in the afternoon as well.

Yesterday, it was closer to the afternoon time. I had just come off a 3 day fast, of course and the first thing I ate was just a banana. I just ate as I felt needed to eat yesterday so there was no planning or scheduling time for when I ate or anything like that. Later on, I went for an hour long walk and had some raw almonds along the way. Then, in the afternoon, I had another banana and probably an hour or so later, I had guacamole made with an avocado, small tomato and some onion and dipped some cucumber slices in it. Hmmm...I think it was between eating the banana and the guacamole that I had that feeling, but it disappeared before I ate the guacamole...so do you think you might be able to find the culprit of what might be causing this? Or is it just a detox thing? Also, TOM started the day after my fast so not too sure that might have had something to do with it as well.

I got the bellyache kind of fierce the day I was eating watermelon (about 30 mins after eating). I think my stomach needs to heal - it helps if I eat fruit. I'm hoping it's detox!

I don't feel well if I allow my blood sugar to rollercoaster all over the place, and that's what I find happens if I have bananas for breakfast.

However, I also felt occasionally nauseous when I began eating lots of raw green veggies - they take a bit of getting used to. These days, I rarely experience that kind of nausia, but then I do ten to avoid greens until midday, preferring to eat very little before that, and what little I do eat is more often fruit-based (avoding high sugar varieties such as bananas) than vegetable.

Do you get much exercise? This can make a big difference to the way your body handles food, particularly insulin modulation (Dr. Doug Graham (http://www.doctorgraham.cc), a friend of Alissa's, is an expert on this, since he is a Raw food sports guru).

3 days a week, I am doing weight training for 40 minutes and then a 30 minute run (with a 5 minute warm up and a 5 minute cool down) and then 2 days a week, I am going for an hour long walk...also, every day, when my dh gets home, if it's nice outside, we take the opportunity to get out in the sunshine and enjoy at least a 20 to 30 minute leisurely walk...so there's my exercise for ya...

Sometimes, when going raw, and having lots of raw food I think the tummy feels woozy because it wants something more "solid" like bread and startches. That's when I get the feeling. So a big fruit salad, or a smoothie or a sweet potato...or even some sprouted bread makes me feel better.

Hope it helps. I don't know if it's really detox, but I think it's just your body adjusting...which is a good thing if you listen to it.

hi, were the almonds soaked. Your stomach is sensitive, because you have just come off a three day fast.

I tried fasting during detox for 1 day while I was on vacation. I also got very sick to my stomach the next morning. Truthfully, I think that was a mistake. Your body is going through many changes during this dextox. My body told me "Don't do that to me right now!" If I try a fast again, it will be after detox when I'm feeling more stable.
