Hello, dear fasting bandits ;)


I'd like to know how you feel while doing a water fast: are you sexually active or do you take a rest from everything?

Did you ever try fasting AND having sex? If yes, did you enjoy it a lot or were you disappointed? How did you feel afterwards? Did it exhaust you or did it give you some more energy?



I tend to feel extremely peaceful, happy and asexual when I fast. What about you?

I've heard my male friends joking that after sex women have all sorts of energy and can bounce off the walls when they just want to rest and can't move a muscle. lol. These are my SAD buddies, so not sure if this extends to Raw guys or not. I know this dynamic has a lot to do with the feminine & masculine energy poles when energy is exchanged too. Since it's a form of exercise it probably impacts people differently when they are fasting in terms of how much their individual body is healing. If having sex causes you to expend a lot of energy, you'd probably get a signal from your body to abstain so it can use the energy for healing. While someone else might experience spikes in energy and their sexual energy is utilized differently in the body. Think it depends on a lot of factors, but maybe it's easier for women to have sex during fasting from what I brought up in the first place. This may be controversial, but guys probably work a little more. Well...you know. Of course, there are other partnerships...I'm just referring to the one I'm oriented too. Don't wish to offend or exclude anyone. :)

I could go either way when water fasting, but generally I'm asexual and don't really think about it too much. In my experience, my body seems to shut down universally including my 2nd chakra while it's regenerating and healing.

Fasting is a discipline, especially water fasting. This is usually a time for rest and renewal - a little vacation for the body. A state of discipline tends to lend itself towards discipline in other areas as well. This may not be equally true for everyone.

Fasting does tend to have a cooling effect on the body and its passions. This too could vary depending on one's condition. For me, water fasting would be somewhat cooling, but by no means a deadener. I would just be plunged into a deep-rest mode. Juice fasting makes no difference at all for me on this.

Obviously there are no rules to fasting in regards to sexual activity.

Right now I am on day 7 of a water fast and the detox and smell coming from me is hideous. I don't think any man in his right mind would want to touch me with a 10 feet pole. LOL:D

I am on day 3 of a water fast right now...and I do need a number of cat naps each day, but I also seem to have to expend a certain amount of energy each day too. I could allot some in that direction, lol....or not.

Neither here nor there for me I guess.

actually during my 12 week fast i found myself way more interested (and enjoying) sex than usual. it's like something within me was awakened.

Yes, it is a discipline. But it is more than a discipline. It is a joy. As such, others may find it easy and not what they'd normally think of as a discipline.

"Discipline" shares the same root as "disciple" which means "a learner." So how ya like them bananas? :) Oh, sorry, are ya still fasting?

Yes, I love fasting - juice fasting. Water is tough for me. Once adequately cleansed, I can handle water. I fast a day or two every now and then. And then with the fasting bandits I go for longer spurts.

Eva, a water fast is fasting on water. You can choose to add some tea, honey, lime or lemon in your water if you choose but a strict traditional water fast is nothing but water. A minimum of 2 litres per day and I recommend no more than 4 litres a day unless you live in a very dry climate.

I've had no problems with fasting and having sex. Maybe the first few days I feel a bit tired, but once I am in the groove I feel awesome. So adding sex into that mix makes it that much better ;)

*giggling* and yet i honestly consider myself SUCH a rookie. melissa IS the fasting queen. when i can fast without even thinking about food/eating/wanting/craving ... then i'll consider myself her equal. until then... i get to scrap the droppings (squished fruit from ripened fruit falling off the trees while she is foraging) off her boots... with a smile and delight... that she allows me the pleasure of doing so. *big humble grin*
