I'm underweight for a guy my height. I do have a piglet-like pot belly. Wondering if running would get rid of it, since my therapist recommended it for my mental health.
I eat mostly fruit (and avocado), but I do eat kale and spinach when I can get nice looking ones.

ive always been athletic and exercised . and the best thing anyone could do for their over all conditioning is running imo (though yes swimming is great too) , and i agree its good mentally also - it clears mind / blows off stress / gets one more focused on the state of their body and thusly how to improve it . and though it shall shake off some gut fat , ide also add a gut exercise . an easy / effective one to me is lying / knees bent / hands locked behind head / then bring elbows and knees towards each other til they meet over middle of body . and for me if im running and doing a stomach exercise regular i can eat alot without getting a gut .

Hmmm…never thought of doing that. Will definitely try it. Body weight exercises work into my budget very well. :D

One question: how do yo know if you've done enough repetitions?

One question: how do yo know if you've done enough repetitions?
thats an easy formula = T M T B = The More The Better :D
ide check out youtube for sit up videos to find a video you like which gets you psyched up to do the exercise and keep going back to that every day to help get in the groove and mimic the technique .

I love Roman's exercise. Also I do biking exercise; lay on floor and do one leg at a time straight out and act like you are peddling. I keep my head on the floor, have seen others raise their head during this exercise. I do one leg, then the other leg, then the other leg, then the other leg...alternating legs I am saying. However, my puggy stomach I was born with so it's stop eating or live with it exercising too. I have to get rid of the side handles however. Plans to do turbo kickboxing later if I get off net quickly or it's solo treadmill cardio. Turbo known to do miracles so waiting. See youtube, search
turbo kickbox.

Sprint Brah! Do interval circuits, sprint hard for 15-30 seconds jog for 1 1/2 mins and do that 5-8 times per session. It's a lot better than endurance running, so much better. Endurance running does not get you cut, rather emaciated.
