Excellent, exciting news!! I've been working out a deal with a U.S. farm to try to get everyone Truly Raw, Organic Shelled Whole Almonds at a decent price. So now instead of spending the same or more money for ones that are either pasteurized or not organic, you can get the right ones. I'm not going to post prices unless a moderator says it's ok. I will have it posted on the website below within an hr or you can email me. Also have truly raw, organic hand-shelled cashews. Those are the 2 most hard to find raw and organic, especially the raw part. I really hope this helps many!! :)

P.S. Did I mention it's free shipping too, directly from farm?! Can you tell I'm super excited?

Is there a way to buy less than ten pounds?

No, this is the only way to get the low prices.

Bummer, I have nowhere to put 10 lbs of almonds. My fridge and freezer are tiny and jam packed as it is.

Thinking outside the box here, perhaps a group order would solve this problem?

Perhaps have an organizer in each geographic area? Organizer would collect money, place order, and then distribute to all buyers.

Just a thought.

Maybe four of us could split an order into 2.5 pounds each, somehow?

There are many that do groups orders for various things. Just need enough people in one area and a trusted individual to handle everything. They also offer an even better deal per pound for a 50 lb box.

I could probably sell from another source that allows a smaller order, but it would be more per pound. Didn't think that would make sense for most, but if it's something you want me to look into let me know.

exciting news indeed! :) can people from europe also order almons from here or is it just for the US? BTW: can you find out whether almonds are raw or not by trying to sprout them?

In Europe you don't have to worry about your almonds. If they say raw they really are. This is just one of those new stupid laws in the US that requires growers to pasteurize theire almonds, if they sell them on the open market. In fact, some of us buy our raw almonds from Europe.

to me its gonna cost them same amount to ship if its a ten pound box , or five two pound boxes . thusly , besides a little extra work packing , i dont see why they wouldnt ship the order out in smaller boxes to various customers . just have one person receive all the checks from group order then they mail in a check for total with the order .

the problem is, it never says "raw" and most of them have to go through temperatures over 60°C which is not raw anymore (under40° IS) thanks for the info though

Good news again! It's free shipping for Alaska & Hawaii, along with the rest of the U.S.

Asked about group orders and they'd probably have to charge extra to divide up the orders into separate bags. Probably best for the organizer to handle it.

Free shipping for Alaska & Hawaii is only for the almonds, not cashews, which come from a different source.

For those wondering, there are several private farms able to get around the pasteurization laws.

Now can offer 5 lb. Not for as good of a price, but wanted to give the option for those that prefer buying less. Hopefully I can get better prices in the future.

Can you tell us a little about the farm? Why dont they pastu? Are they a private farm?

Thanks

Yes, they're a private farm. Most farms that aren't pasteurizing have to be pretty low key and really can't advertise that they're offering the nuts commercially. Under the new law, farmer can legally sell directly to the consumer.

I'm also working with another similar farm.

I'm constantly researching raw & health info and products and came across them. I'm always looking for good deals for myself and if I can pass them along, even better. :)

The farms can only sell a maximum of 100 lbs per day. That's what I was told buy a local raw vegan supplier. Can't have too many of those unpastuerized almonds on the market.
