Banana tip: Keep the bananas in the fridge once they're yellow and soft, maybe with a little brown. They work so well in smoothies this way because it brings out the flavor more, without it being frozen. They also can last a long time there. The skin will eventually get more brown, then black, but the banana itself stays good for awhile.

You should never taste the greens in a fruit smoothie as long as you're using enough fruit and using mild tasting greens like spinach, baby greens, romaine. I usually only need one refrigerated banana to make it taste good. If it's a large smoothie with a lot of water, then you'll need more fruit or super foods to make it more flavorful. There's also green soups, which are like savory smoothies that you can either eat with a spoon or drink. The other types of greens work better in these.
