View Full Version : Ugh feel sort of bleh

I woke up feeling not tired as usual, but have had that sugar-high lethargic feeling all day. I think its because my diet is about 70% fruits and 30% vegetables. Any way to release the sugar quicker? Ive been drinking lots of water. I'm definitely going to be eating more veggies T_T

I am about 70/30 myself - Also new to this! I have no choice I need the fruit for calories, I cannot eat nuts or seeds! I hope you get some good answers! Some days I dont have the sugar high, others I do!

Bleh. This isn't a sugar high, this is a sugar low.
I've had very little fruit today to try to counter it. Going to try to stay 50/50

I've found that I dont like veggies enough!! I like carrots thats IT! .......its frustrating!
I only like cooked veggies, I am really struggling! I have been 100% from the beginning of the month! Im a little stir crazy!

Yeah, be too on the 100%. Lunch has been a: fruit fruit fruit fruit, carrots, nuts.
I have eaten an avacoda every other day or so.. oh wait thats a fruit too lol!
I think it is all about maintaining blood sugar, or at least not getting it so high that when/if there is a drop it won't affect me.

I think you are absolutely right!!
I have been eating fruit all day until dinner! I need to find a way to enjoy more veggies!

Actually my lunch today was at the raw cafe That I was talking about. It is like 5$ a pound of food. I loaded up my plate with sprouts and it was only 4$ SO CHEAP. It was SO good. They had like sprouted garbonzo beans and a whole bunch of sprouted things it was good to have. Im so going to go back again.

Greens balance out that "sugar rush" feeling of eating too much fruit. They also balance out the "I'm so stuffed" feeling of eating too many nuts. Greens are wonderfully balancing and grounding. Looks like you two have already figured that out :) .
You can always marinate raw veggies to give them more of a cooked veggie texture.
Jurence - I'm glad to hear you had a nice lunch! I wish there was a place like that near me. Someday there will be, I'm sure of it. This raw movement is really gaining momentum.

You are sooooooo lucky to have that!

I might have been sick this morning too. I didn't lose any weight yesterday, but overnight lost 3 pounds
Just drank another huge thing of water a half hour ago, feeling a little better
12-14-2008, 05:25 PM
you seem to be losing a lot! and fast!! could your symptoms be that you are not eating enough (just a thought!)
12-14-2008, 05:29 PM
I have a BMR of 2,100 (I'm 6 2)
I am getting slight (very slight) head rushes. If I weren't eating enough, I would behaving MUCH more extreme ones.
At one point in my life I WAS anorexic (Not anymore, obviously :P) and know what they feel like.
But yeah, eating 3x a day opposed to my unhealthy-vege diet of 1x a day and eating a LOT when I do. I'm definitely not starving myself. I have not been hungry at ALL- unless you count stomach grumbles... but those aren't grumbles of hunger, they are grumbles of "HALP ME DIGEST THIS PLX!"
12-14-2008, 05:36 PM
Yeah, eating 1x a day was DEFF worse!!! I used to do that! I gained a lot of weight doing that.
It is awesome that you are taking the healthier route now! :)
It'll all pan out!

I use to have that problem too. But after I startet to take spirulina in the morning it has gotten a lot better. Spirulina will balance my blodsugar for houres.
Greens as allready said is your answer. Doug Graham who advocade a high fruit diet eats huge amounts of leafy greens everyday. Dont eat fatty foods with the fruits that will upset the blodsugar balance (in me anyway ;-), but you can eat leafy greens with them. Green smooties, green juices or like I do; I cut up some fruit put it in a bowl and sprinkle a green powder over it. Tastes jummy and is easy :D
I also found that mono eating helps with blodsugar problem. Eating ony one kind of fruit at the time, or finding out what fruits combines well.

Spirulina eh? I'm going to have to check it out. The only supp i've started taking is b12 (Which i needed to start doing months ago )
For lunch I have:
Ear of corn
That is a bit more balanced, I think.
I woke up at 4 30 to go to this workout thing down the street. Suicides on 7 flights of stairs OH MY GOD MY LEGS HURT lol
