I was using an all natural Veggie Wash (no animal testing either) that was store bought when first starting out. I am just about out of that gallon and am wondering ...do I buy another gallon or is there something better?

I read somewhere that some folks use GSE and water, some use plain water and baking soda , others use lemon water.

What do you use?

though not very studied on the topic ive always just opted for tap water and felt it sufficient . i just use a real big soup type pot (3 / 4 gallon) with aloto water so i can really wash the stuff off thoroughly . .

I sometimes add a dash of peroxide to a sink full of water. Let my greens soak for a bit and then rinse off.
Most of the time I just rinse them off with fresh water.

I have only ever rinsed things under a running tap. Never had any problems. I just choose not to think about all the people that picked the apple up before me!! Or perhaps no one picked it up before me as it is a perfect apple with no bruises!!

I wonder if one can use a couple of drops of Dr. Bronner's castile soap. It can be used for all sorts of things. Someone on this site said that you can even brush your teeth with it.... Haven't ventured there, but if you are only using a few drops in some water, I imagine this soap would last for a loooong time.

I also use tap water, I've never tried a wash product. *Ü*

I have been using shaklee's basic H since the 70's for washing my produce. you only need a few drops, and it rinses off easily.

i read recently that acv works great, especially to remove chemical residue

All great idea's- thanks so much for everyones input. For my organics I will remain using just plain old water and elbow grease when needed to remove any yukkies.

For my non organic I may try the ACV - I have a gallon of it that a friend of mine bought and did not like (I can not stomach the taste of it just yet either but maybe adding some to water for the non organics would put it to good use)

Hope everyone is having a great day!:D
