Thanks for passing the knowledge along. I know you said this drink is tasty, but what does it taste like? It doesn't sound so good to me, but I'll just have to try it for myself.
What benefits have you personally noted from drinking this? It seems like a combination of a liver flush with the master cleanse drink.

Hey...

Im sure cayenne powder will work. I usually order the cayenne extract online. But I know they sell them at local WH stores.

The drink will taste better, if you put more grapefruit, more fruity if you put at least 2. You cant really taste the kelp or the olive oil at all. The fruit is 2 strong. So if you cant handle the taste add more grapefruit. But I really didnt care if it tasted good I just knew this combo would work, so I would down it reguardless. But it didnt taste bad at all to me. More grapefruit.

The benefits I have seen is the dissolving of fat that is very stubborn and doesnt seem to want to leave, My FLANK area, that area for men is annoying. But drinking this does much more, I feel clean, lymph moving (cranberries) Its just a powerful drink.

Davy,

How long have you been drinking this? Have you been drinking it every single day? Are you fasting or is this your breakfast?

Where did you learn about it?

I'm just trying to learn - is this something you've been doing for awhile and finding a change in your body without changing anything else about your daily regime or is this something you've added in combination with working out or a diet change?

Hi, Davy
I am curious as well. I am wondering what the reason for using Olive Oil, rather than other oils like Hemp or Flax?

Davylp25
12-15-2008, 12:10 AM
Hey All...

Well the reason I wanted to try this was because after 100% raw for 3 years, and working out very hard, colon hydrotherapy, cleanses, fasts, saunas------------------------------ etcetcetcetcetcetcetcetcetcetcetcetcetcetcetc and yet still I have this area of fat around my stomach that wont go away. Im not overweight anywhere else but this area, so its been very frustrating for me. So I thought, Hmm with all the things I have learned, and done:

MASTER CLEANSE- lemon cayenne idea
FAT FLUSH - cranberry idea
LIVER FLUSHING- Lemon Olive Oil came from
KELP, came from just reading about kelp and how it can help with weightloss..
So I combined it all, Into one super drink, just last week. I was doing cranberry by itself, and seeing a change, more definition in my stomach, that I never had. No matter how many situps I did. UGH. So then I wanted to go further, Im seeing and feeling differences each day. It's a annoying pattern I know, but I always go check my stomach in the morning, hehe seeing if its getting smaller.

I also workout, I dont just drink and pray all will go away, it hasnt worked like that with me. So Ima keep on this the rest of the month. Im excited to see the end results.

Cranberrys are in season now till the end of the month.

Im tired of fasts, etc. So I wanted something I can do each morning, and evening. I dont make small lil cups full - I usually fill the vitamix to the top... then down it. I love the clean feeling it gives me.

So I havent changed anything else... I still eat the same, workout the same... Just added this, and it seems to be attacking those stubborn stuck areas... Its like the combo is fail proof or something.

Heres some of the research I gathered :

Cranberry juice contains high levels of organic acids, which have an emulsifying effect upon fat deposits, thereby helping you reduce excess fat. Cranberries are magical little berries that flush out your system and detoxify the body. Cranberry juice contains bacteria anti-adhesion properties. This is important because bacteria overgrowth can cause toxic overload to the body and stop your body's natural cleansing system from working properly. Rich in vitamin C and antioxidents, and a good source of vitamin K, dietary fiber, manganese, potassium and vitamin A the power that this little berry punches certainly belies its size. It also contains proanthocyanidin and antioxidants to help cleanse and flush out the kidneys. Cranberry juice can also help naturally body detoxification by cleansing the lymphatic system and helping it to eliminate stubborn fat. The lymphatic system is responsible for neutralising our body's waste products and to carry the toxins away from the cells and body tissues.

Good suggestion is to have your first Cranberry Elixir of the day on an empty stomach!!!

LEMON OLIVE OIL CAYENNE....
This drink manages to restore the Ph of your saliva which in turn helps you to absorb the nutrients from the food you eat.
If drunk all in one go first thing in the morning (an hour before eating) it will flush & detox the Liver & Gallbladder. Extra Virgin Olive Oil increases the flow of bile from the Liver. This helps the liver get rid of accumulated toxins and poisons. Lymph fluid then drains into the liver for processing and eliminating waste products of cellular metabolism
Lemon is rich in vitamin C -Helps to lose weight faster naturally -Flushes toxins from the body -Promotes a stronger immune system -Helps to purify the blood -Natural antiseptic -Increases the acidity of the digestive system -Helps the body absorb calcium.

Lose Weight
All that heat you feel after eating hot chili peppers takes energy--and calories to produce. Even sweet red peppers have been found to contain substances that significantly increase thermogenesis (heat production) and oxygen consumption for more than 20 minutes after they are eaten. Spice up the metabolism babay!

Health Benefits of Grapefruit :
Grapefruit is very helpful in removing or dissolving inorganic calcium which may have formed in the cartilage of the joints, as in arthritis, as a result of an excessive consumption of devitalized white flour products. Fresh grapefruit contains organic salicylic acid, which aids in dissolving such inorganic calcium in the body.
Grapefruit can help in weight loss, since it is low in sodium, high in fat burning enzymes. Low sodium intake can help flush out excess water that is caused by high sodium food.
Grapefruit has high water content, and an increased water consumption can help increase metabolism.
Grapefruit is a rich source of Vitamin C
Grapefruit is rich in lycopene (the red color/pigment), it helps to prevent to occurance of tumor and cancer.
It is a liver tonic
Helps in cases of Gallstones
Helps in cases of Cold, Pneumonia, Fever
It is a powerful drug-poison eliminator
Helps in proper digestion of food
Can help improve complexion
Grapefruit is a natural antiseptic for wounds when used externally

KELP- sea vegetable, has been acknowledged as a detoxifier, a balanced supplement, and a healing plant. Kelp is a good source of many vitamins and minerals, but is most noted for its assimilable iodine content. Iodine is transported directly to the thyroid gland where it is converted into the hormone Thyroxine, which helps to regulate basal metabolism and therefore, is of use to slimmers to avoid the plateau effect. It contains over 30 minerals and vitamins. The electrolytic magnetic action of kelp releases excess body fluids from congested cells and dissolves fatty wastes through the skin, replacing them with depleted minerals, particularly potassium and iodine. As iodine boosts thyroid activity, food fuels are used before they can turn into fatty deposits.

hmmm interesting. i wonder if the results you are seeing are from adding a juice first thing in the morning. did you do juices before in the morning?

i find it interesting that the effects of some things are not reduced by adding in the rest of your ingredients. for example: the cayenne, oil, lemon are supposed to be taken before anything else (according to your post) and yet you are taking them with other things...

i look very forward to hearing if this weight release continues for you. i certainly hope it does!!! congrats on what you've achieved so far. (((hugs)))

i am totally 100% on board about cranberries. i'm starting a fast after christmas and plan on buying the store's left over cranberries at a reduced prices and juicing those puppies up for myself! thanks for the info!

Hey...

Thanks all.

Aleesha, I take it all at once. I down it all, I take them all together with the Grapefruit, Cran, Kelp. I got that from a site that was just about the lemon cayenne oil drink... That was just a copy and paste ( wink) But I just put 2 and 2 together because all the things I have tried said to take FIRST THING in the morning, so I thought, ALCHEMY... Hmmm why not combine them all.... The way I saw it was like a foundation, Im sure one or the other would be just as powerful, but I wanted to combine them all since each ingredient helps certain areas more.... So wallah!

I have been doing juice in the morning for years. I have always had something first thing. wether it was just lemon and 64 ounces of water, or acv in water, or fresh green juice. It changed. But this seems to be doing something major. So we shall see!

I didn't try yours just yet. I've never done a cleanse other then herbs before or fast. So, I got a glass of warm water put 1/2 lemon in it, a dash of cayenne, and a tsp of olive oil. It went down easy. I was so surprised. I've avoided trying that because, I thought it would horrible. I will add the grapefruit juice tomorrow. I love grapefruits. :)

Oh, a dumb question probably. I usually take my morning herbs in the morning with my lemon water. Should I not do that and wait...?

I am so EXCITED to try this out. Walked to the store today and got the ingrdts for tomorrow a.m. Was really great to read about grapefruit dissolving inorganic calcium in joints (as I am Positive I have that) Joints hurt and are stiff and can only turn my neck so far to the left....... But am going to try this out daily for a while~~oh yes, I need to lose some around the middle also ~~:D so hope this helps both of us.......... thanks so much for info.

How many oz. does this make? It seems like alot, and you are downing it all at one time?? I would be worried about that making me sick. If it's as much as I'm thinking, I don't know if I can "down" it all at one time....maybe over the whole morning.../?????

Thanks, just wondering and interested!!! (anything to get rid of the fat!!):D

Davy,

You mention kelp as an ingredient. I don't have kelp, but could one substitute kombu, or sea palm, or hijiki as those are all seaweeds, or do you think it has to be kelp? Okay, just went online (was being lazy by asking you I guess) and learned that konbu is a type of kelp and that they don't recommend people eat hijiki because it contains small amounts of inorganic arsenic( NOT GOOD). Didn't say whether sea palm is a type of kelp~~Let's see, Are all seaweeds kelp?? Need to think on that.....

Hey...

TVilleMOM... Yeah sorry for that. I didnt mean I down it like a Frat Boy at a Keg party, lol... I meant that I down it will all the ingredients in it. I just fill it up, because it does make a lot, then grab my straw and cruise the net or watch telly why I drink it... No need to down like a maniac! lol. The more extra water you add the more you will get. I always fill it the the top of my vita mix. LOL. With just the fruit juices tho, it will usually only be about 4 cups in the vita mix or less. And again Im used to cranberry's, but if you're not you can always add extra grapefruit or orange juice. It wont hurt it at all. Make it stronger, add more lemon, more grapefruit, more cayenne, play around... See what fits just make sure those ingredients are in there somewhere lol...

ALSO I just realized the Grapefruit near me are the small ones, HENCE THE 2 or 3. So IM SURE 1 LARGE ONE WILL SUFFICE LOL... Sorry about that! DUH!

Jenifae... I forgot to add -I put my morning herbal tinctures in this drink as well... also my cayenne is a tincture - Just the normal ones I take in the morning. Its fine.,, It will actually make the drink stronger. Which Is great. So I have been adding my herbal tincture to this drink as well... Forgot to add that.

Also on that note... Grapefruit juice can interact with certain types of "satin" medications, I believe for cholesterol, high blood pressure, some anxiety meds, So not sure if anyone takes that around these parts.. But if you look it up Im sure the info is around online.

lsadeseyens... Im sure any sea veggie will suffice, but each one has its certain magic, from the things I have read the top 2 are Kelp and Dulse, but the rest are still a nutritional powerhouse.. I use Kelp Powder... But it is expansive in stores. BUT, If you go to ( I checked Alissas store she doesnt sell any)

http://seaveg.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=13&products_id=32

You can get 1 pound of Kelp powder for $9 bucks! Its a steal because I have seen less at the store for like 20... But in the meantime you can if its near you a local WFS and get those lil kelp granules in the shaker bottles by the same above company if you dont wanna wait till shipment arrives.

Enjoy!!

Thanks davy,

I had some kombu on hand, so am using that this a.m. grinding it in the grinder before I put into the vitamix. I have a source for pure raw cherry juice concentrate~~it's great for arthritis~~ and put 1-2 Tbls of that in too. And yes, my mother takes medicine for high blood pressure:(, and was told don't eat grapefruit or grapefruit juice when she takes the meds.... she can have it same day a few hours later though. Glad to have the website for the kelp~~am getting that today!

Hey all...

Man this thing is amazing. I hesitate to say, but, Im thinking in the next week or 2, Im going to have a flat stomach for the first time in HISTORY. Im not even working out as hard, just the usual. Im just drinking this baby... Im drinking it now twice a day. The past few days only. I added more lemon is some of the mixes... also some granny smith a few times...

My lymph node under my jaw has been swollen since going raw, nothing I did, colon hydro, hot cold showers, infrared sauna, zappers, herbs, dry brushing, ever got rid of it... But now, its FINALLY going away... 3 years later. This is really insane, everytime I jog I would always feel my stomach fat swishing around, but now Im like. Okay whats going on, its not there, Im SOOO EXCITED FOR THIS NEW YEAR!

So I wanted to let yall know... This juice rocks!!! Or rawks!

Well, this morning I pulled my mini juicer out and I juiced:

1 Grapefruit and 1 lemon and put warm water to fill the 8oz cup
then I put
1 tsp of Kelp
1 tsp of Olive Oil
A Dash of Cayenne Pepper
and
1 tbsp of Noni

I have dried cranberries but, not fresh. Where do I look for these? In the freezer.........Knowing me - I'm looking right at them and don't even notice it. LOL!

You might have mentioned it already but how many ounces does this make up once you add the water? It seems like a lot though I know I don't get too much juice from cranberries when I make cranapple juice. I think it might be a little on the expensive side for me to do two bags of cranberries on a daily basis but I'll see.

I did 1 large Grapefruit and 1 regular lemon and it made about 6oz. Personally, I"m not worrying about the cranberry just yet. I haven't been able to get any. I think without them it's still very cleansing because of the Grapefruit and lemons. :p

This drink is kind of like the fat flush diet. I made some the last 2 mornings and used organic cranberry juice. (just mixed it in after the fruits were juiced) I know it's not really RAW but if you can't get cranberries and don't mind organic juice you could try that. I also cut it with some water but you can take it straight too. I was just trying to make more juice.

I've got to try your creation. I've been craving grapefruit and cranberries, lately. First I will try your drink as it, but I can't afford to juice that much on a daily basis. Cranberries are expensive here, especially if organic. I'll compromise by putting a grapefruit, half a lemon and a couple handfuls of cranberries in the vitamix with a little water and your other super ingredients....maybe a little shake of stevia, too....?

If I see any good deals on cranberries, I'm stocking up and freezing them. They probably won't juice well after being frozen, but will be fine in a smoothie.

Thanks for sharing your creation.

I made a juice of just 2 grapefruits, 1 large apple, and a couple handfuls of cranberries. I was trying to kinda mimick this, it was good, but I think I'll stick more to your recipe......cranberries are expensive here too, so I'll cut how many I use per juice. I like the blender part and now wonder what that will taste like. I don't have kelp but will use dulse.

I'll try to post my results also. I love the idea of flushing the fat away!!

If you cant find fresh cranbberies or frozen ones, Im sure the organic juice will be fine, I know its not what we raws love most, but sometimes its the best we can do.

But the real trick is if you cant find cranberries or even cranberry juice, add more lemons. I made one drink last night with 4 lemons, it was really really really good. The more the better! I felt really clean after. lol

Question: Do you use the whole lemons or just the juice? I've been on juice and water fast for over 4 weeks and went from 164.5 lbs. on 11/25 to 138 lbs. today. I know I keep saying I'm doing this for my health and not weight loss, I'm vain enough to want to get rid of that belly and slight layer of hip fat that's clinging to me for dear life. So my second question: Do you do this as part of a juice fast or do you eat normally the rest of the day? I'm really looking forward to eating again on January 1, but if you just add the juice in the morning, that's what I will do!

Aleesha Sattva
12-27-2008, 11:45 AM

Davy, or anyone who knows an answer.....what is a good substitute for grapefruit? My husband is on Crestor (statin) and as you said, can't have grapefruit or grapefruit juices. This would be very good for him (and me of course), not just for the fat burning properties but mostly because of the cleansing. When I was shopping yesterday, one of the stores I went to had bags of cranberries and I thought about grabbing a few but didn't know what to do with them...LOL

I make hubby fresh orange juice every morning. I try to make it interesting by adding an apple or pineapple when I have them. This morning I made his juice from oranges, an apple and blended a banana in my magic bullet. He loved it! I also add a powder or juice that contains wheat grass/barley grass, etc. I know I sound kindergarten-ish but I'm just learning and trying different things (which is how I eventually landed on this site).

This drink sounds really good and after next payday, I may start having this for my breakfast. Gotta start somewhere!

Thanks to all of you for sharing your knowledge!

There is not really a substitute for grapefruit, since it has certain properties not found in other fruits, but I'm sure it would still be an excellent juice, if you made it with oranges. The important thing is to feed him lots of raw food to get him off the statins (a perfect money-making scheme by big pharma).

I made up a batch yesterday and it was pretty good. I think I peed a lot during the day due to the diuretic properties. Ann Louise Gittleman actually uses diluted cranberry juice and the foundation of her fat burning program. I hope this works like natural liposuction. Goodbye fat deposits! :)

Yesterday I tried a smoothie version of this juice. It was a super diuretic. Today I tried the juice almost exactly as posted. I like the juice better.

Juiced 1 large grapefruit, 1 large lemon, (cut off the peel leaving on the pith), and 1 cup cranberries.
Blended with 1 T. olive oil, 1 t. dulse flakes, 3 sprinkles cayenne powder, and water. To tart. Added 1 T. maple syrup and blended again.

Loved everything about the juice. The flavor, the heat that came on afterwards, and best of all the feeling of clarity and crispness I'm feeling right now. It came on almost immediately. I was standing at the sink looking out the window while washing the juicer when it hit. Suddenly everything seemed brighter and lighter, including me. Even my vision sharpened.

Not sure about how big a fat burner it will be for me. I'd have to exercise for that. But still....WOW! Thanks!

Thanks for posting this recipe! I've been drinking a blender full everyday. It really is growing on me but I think I will try it with alittle grade B maple syrup; kind of like the The master cleanse.
I actually saw a program on tv today talking about THE FAT FLUSH and how it used cranberries! I thoight it was neat that I was already using part of the program!!

I tried this out yesterday...two grapefruit, one lemon, and one bag of cranberries (seem to be in every store in the produce department around here, but it's Wisconsin?!). Juiced these, then put in the blender with the olive oil and cayenne. It made a quart jar, took me about 3 hours to get it down (don't know if that's good or bad) but it was just a LOT. I may have put in too much cayenne, but didn't result in anything too horribly dramatic. It tasted good to me, though my husband took a sip and cringed. I was pretty full from that most of the day. I enjoyed it, so bought more ingredients today to make this for the next few days.

I forgot to get cranberries yesterday, so I bought some today. I don't have dulse flakes, but I have kelp. I also have some blue green algae, I think I'll put some of that in my juice. I bought a 15-grapefruit bag at Costco and a bag of lemons. I know the recipe calls for an awful lot of cranberries. I think I'll stick to 1 cup. So I'll start every morning of the next 2 weeks with this juice. That should get rid of the rest of my fat deposits and rebounding and walking should start building some muscles.

This morning I put everything in the vitamix - 1 grapefruit, 1 lemon, 1 handful of cranberries, 1 Tbls olive oil, 1 tsp of kelp, 1 tsp of spirulina, a dash of cayenne

I didn't like it as much as I like it juiced. So, I"m sticking with that.

I thought of juicing it. Thanks for your experiences. I'll try it that way too. I'm in a rush this morning and will just throw everything in the Vitamix. It's also a variation on David Jubb's Electrolyte Lemonade.

WoW... Never would I have imagined all ya would have tried this. Sooo cool...

Yep this is a combo, of so many things I have tried... Its a hybrid baby!

Also to let ya know, if your out of cranberries, add more lemons... and remember you can add anything you want with this... its all good, just make sure those ingredients are in there somewhere. Lately I have been adding more lemon, lots of them. Im getting used to sour now. Green Granny Smiths are awesome in this to if you like the tart. hehe Some dont. But as others mentioned this makes you feel really really clean. I love the way it makes me feel.

Tvillemom-- If your really want to mimic the flat fush, add one tabslepoon ground flaxseed in the drink as well. Thats what they do for the cran fat flush thingy.

Really great to have after a workout. I still workout as well...* smiles at Rawknister* as I have for years. But adding this creates some magic. I thank it everyday! These lil elements inside it. Releasing what no longer belongs!

Enjoy it!

Well I just made it... the fat burning juice... made it a little different though. I used 1 large grapefruit, 2 small limes (just the juice), 1 cup of cranberries, hemp oil, kelp powder and cayenne. Added water... it was horrid. I then juiced up 3 or 4 small kiwis and it wasn't much better. Ewwww I won't be making this again.

I will use up the cranberries as I love them in my juices but this blend.... ewwwwwwwwwwwwww

I made it for the second time today and still loved it, though I'm not sure I would like it with kelp powder in it. Maybe switch out the limes for a lemon, and skip the kelp powder? I thought it was really good, which is unusual, I'm not a big fruit lover. I just chew on dried kelp throughout the day as a snack.

I used kelp flakes rather than powder since that's what I have on hand, and just kinda chewed them up as I sipped. You can't really see it in the picture, but it was flecked with kelp. I'm all about this stuff, I just love it.

Aleesha Sattva

hmmm that's a good idea. i used the limes cause i thought i had a lemon and i guess i didn't - i always prefer lime in anything though, hence why i buy bags of organic limes at the market LOL

i can't chew on kelp though, as i'm fasting.

the weird thing here is... my favourite thing to have is a tomato juice i make and i add a lot of cayenne, kelp powder, (sometimes some lime juice), curry powder and sometimes smoked sea salt - otherwise regular celtic sea salt. i love love love this... lived on it for dinner for the better part of this year. so i really expected to like this (not when i first read the post but as time went on and i was thinking about it)... so i'm pretty amazed i didn't like it at all.

That's a bummer. Maybe it's because you are fasting? Oh well, not worth it if it upsets your system. I have only tried it because a friend gave us a bag of grapefruit, and had most of the items on hand. Otherwise, may not have tried it. But I DO like it.

Dang Aleesha that sucks that it upset your stomach. Im not sure if you diluted it with enough water, cuz that always makes it more pleasant for me. Also sometimes adding sweet apples juiced to the mix sweetens it up. Or adding more lemons and apples, But it could just not be your taste buds thang as you said...;) I cannot consume grapefruit juice by itself, I just couldnt do it. LOL. Maybe just cranberries, lemon, nix the grapefruit... or maybe use a small small portion of grapefruit. OR like u said, Maybe not your thang! lol

Someone mentioned foam, Heres what I do... I put all the juice, and water into the vitamix, because I fill it to the max, I dont put the lid on...putting the lid on will cause it to overflow --I then put the vitamix on an extremely low setting -enough so the mixture starts to gently swirl on top, then I add cayenne, and powdered kelp ( or kelp flakes etc) - olive oil. Usually I get no foam. Its like a gentle cycle, but mixes it all up....But when I have used Spirulina, if I blend too high, I will get mass foam. Sometimes with kelp as well. If I notice foam, after the mixture was made and in the cup etc, Just swirl it around with a straw and the foam usually goes away then you let it sit and it comes back, just mix with straw again.

Jennifae, Yum coconut oil sounds great in this. Great for the Thyroid.

My roommate found this thread and I started doing this last weekend so It has been 8 days I guess. I will be doing this drink until this coming Tuesday. The first day I got a horrible rash and I was freaking out a little bit but then it went away in like 20 minutes. Obviously a major healing event for me. So weird. I am hoping that this will really help me as I have always had this belly on me that almost looks like I am pregnant. When I have been overweight I was mistaken by several people as being pregnant. This belly decided to be with me since I was 13 and never went away. There have been times in my life when I was underweight like 126 lbs while being 5' 9 1/2" tall and the belly was still there just smaller. Seriously not an ounce of fat anywhere else on my body but that belly was still hanging on. Since I am still just going back to raw and doing a 30 days cleanse I am working on losing about 30 pounds so I am not sure if I can really see any results yet. I will do it again during the last week of the 30 day cleanse and the following week after that and see what happens. If this actually takes away my belly and I can have a flat stomach for the first time since I was an child I will be completely stoked beyond words. Thanks for the posts and updates. I just knew one day I would find something that would work. I didn't ever imagine it would be easy but this isn't too bad. By the way I found the drink to be very difficult to drink until I added an additional lemon and way more water. I use a quart jar and fill to the top. Also I kept forgetting the cayenne until I re-read this post. I hope that finding cranberry's frozen after my cleanse will not be too bad. They are expensive already fresh I hope not too much more out of season. I would hate to have to wait until the end of the year to do this again. Have a great day.

And yes, add more lemons, the more the better for ya. Again I never drink these in small cups, I do it exactly like you, I add alot of water, this fills half my vitamix, then I fill it to the top with water. wantsandwishes, I just wanted to mention to you that if you haven't already, you might want to investigate whether you may have issues with candida and/or parasites.
Candida is notorious for causing that "pregnant belly," and parasites can certainly do it, too.

On another note, my daughter is in the kitchen making some of this for me right now. My kids rule. :D

Wantsandwishes: What results has your roommate seen in the 8 days that she has been doing this? Is she on a juice fast?

The belly: It was the first thing to go when I first tried raw & the most obvious return when I've really fallen off the wagon.
When I've had problems with a stubborn belly in the past, I found that a regular intake of raw garlic (in salads, smoothies), oil of oregano tablets and regular colonics for a few weeks helped. I think garlic is good for parasites & candida.

We will have to see what happens I will definitely let you know what I find in a couple of weeks. In my 30 day cleanse I will be consuming a lot of garlic and the herbs already that I am taking that also kill and remove parasites so if that is what is the cause then I think I will see improvement as well. I will report back. Davyl (I forgot the last part of your name) can you show us before and afters? Or do you have measurements or some kind of progress measurement your using? Just curious. Yes, I meant swallowing, lol! If they a small clove I swallow the whole thing. If it's a large one I cut them in half or 1/4's. Adding garlic to your smoothies is helpful too. But, There is something about taking a whole clove on an empty stomach and let it go through.

I don't have it daily, and I don't do it for any magical fat burning effect.
I just do it 'cause I like it (a LOT) and it's a good way to get some fruit into my very veggie-heavy diet.
I would be interested to know if anyone else has seen results, though, too.

I was doing it everyday for breakfast. Stopped after a couple weeks because my weight had crept up 2 pounds. It is a lot more caloric than the fruit I would normally eat for breakfast. I still drink it frequently, but call it brunch. My drink of grapefruit, lemon, half a cup cranberries, 1 T. olive, 1 T. maple syrup and 1 t. kelp was 303 calories.

Thanks for the tip on fitday. That is a great tool. I haven't lost anymore weight for months, ever since I stopped keeping a daily food log. I'm going to start using it and see what happens. :)

I'm having another variation for lunch. 1 grapefruit, 1 lemon, 1/2 cup cranberries, sprinkle of stevia and cayenne. Blended it to keep all that filling fiber. It's more like a meal that way. Dropping the oil and maple syrup cuts the calories by more than half, down to 143. (I'll have my daily dose of olive oil with dinner.) And I don't have to wash the juicer. :)

Dumb Question?
Peel the grapefruit and lemon?

Yes. I cut off the outside to leave as much pith as possible. It's a little bitter, but full of good stuff.

Finally have all of the ingredients to make this!

I have the mixture in front of me sans kelp, the one thing I didn't have!

Hmm....very interesting! I like the flavor a lot..but I'm not digging the olive oil. Next time I might try coconut oil.

Very tart and tangy--delicious!

Jenna, I couldn't taste the olive oil and coconut oil added a definite flavor and waxy feel. But that's just me. Jenifae really likes it with coconut oil.
No kelp? How about a sprinkle of dulse?

JCB44 - I would diffently peel your Lemons and Grapefruits. Knitster likes to leave some of the pith. I like to eat that right off the peel myself. I've loved since, I was a kid. Must be something in it I need. Oh...getting off track. hehehe

Jenna - It is so Yummylicious with Coconut Oil and Coconut Shreds but, that gives it alot of calories and fat. BUt, of course the right kind of fat. :)

Yumm!!

Next time I will make less juice, this was so filling!

My favorite part about this juice is that it is BRIGHT PINK! SQUEAL! It's so cute! I feel so pretty and cute when I drink it :p:)

This is also the reason as to why I now drink grapefruit juice instead of orange juice. Love that pink color!

I read all four pages and didn't see any results. Looks like most everyone thought it taste good. The drink had more calories than everyone thought.

I am going to try it without the oil.

Anyone else have any results

Yum yum yum, love this drink!

Today, I was a lazy and blended up the crans instead of juicing. I added a banana for fun, a couple shakes of dulse and coco oil instead of olive.

Deeeelicious!!

I do notice, that I experience a sour stomach after drinking this drink. Perhaps it is too acidic? I've read that grapefruit and juice in general can be unbalancing for my dosha (http://www.whatsyourdosha.com/index.php), but it's so delicious! I thought I had had too much of this drink last I tried it, but now I'm getting this symptom from just a cup. With fiber, even! So, not sure what my tummy doesn't like...might be my delicious pink grapefruit juice! :(

Had the rest of the drink I made yesterday...it was good buttttt:

It smelled so much like coconut oil, I could barely stomach it! I guess I'm just not an oily kind of girl or something! I still love the combo of grapefruit, lemon, and crans. What an amazing trio!!

Thanks Davy for sharing this awesome recipe with us! My waistline loves it too

My HFS has them in the frozen fruit section. I think you'll have trouble finding them fresh except at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Hmm, interesting blend of juice. I have read in the past the citrus fruits provide the most benefit when eaten away from other foods (I think especially their weight loss properties), so I find it interesting that this works so well. However, you are combining some pretty good weight loss foods and herbs, so in that respect it seems pretty good. Cayenne pepper (http://www.seacoastvitamins.com/topic.php?health=cayenne) is known to be great for weight loss as well. I have a hard time getting much into my diet, so sometimes use a supplement. There are so many other wonderful properties it has as well. Will have to consider giving this a try.

This is Major Fat Burner... as well as many other benefits.

I juice...
1 OR 2 GRAPEFRUITS ( or more)
2 -12 oz bags of CRANBERRIES
1 LEMON ( or more)

Throw in VitaMix with:

1 TSP KELP or more
1 TABLESPOON OLIVE OIL...
Few drops of Cayenne Pepper.. ( I use hot hot cayenne extract, powder is fine as well)
Add water for more flow! hehe
Blend~

Have this first thing in the morning. Pretty major. Doesnt taste 2 bad either. Just sharing the knowledge!

I wonder how this has gone since the original post. Anyone have any great results with it? I've emailed Davy to perhaps get an update...

I'm still not going to try it again... I was not fond of the taste like everyone else was LOL

I think that I want to try this, because I am having trouble with my stomach area as well. I will try it for a month and let you know how it goes. I don't have everything on hand so I will get the items and let you know when I do. I think he said he drank one first thing in the morning and then again at night. i will double check that and see how it goes!

I go back to drinking it when the mood strikes. I like it. I prefer to use coconut oil instead of olive oil. Grapefruit is said to be good at breaking up cellulite. Cranberries are a good diuretic. As for this drink's fat burning ability, it only works if you are using it as a meal replacement and getting some exercise. At least that has been my experience with it.
