View Full Version : Dried Green Leaf Stevia
I bought a small amount (1-2 tablespoons) of this just to try it.
If any of you use this as a sweetener, how do you 'use' it? I tried mixing it in with my cup of hot tea and did not dissolve, although it did sweeten.
Any help appreciated on different things you use this with successfully. I don't have any idea as I've always used a processed stevia blend...
Thanks in advance for your tips with this. *Ü*

I never grew to love Stevia but others find it great.

I have "powdered" green stevia that I use once in a GR8 GR8 while and I'll mix it in smoothies.
Maybe crush the leaves in a mortar and pestal to create a powder?
Stevia is an odd "thing". It's kinda gritty and an odd sweet. Reminds me almost of the artificial sweeteners - the aftertaste.
Thank you spicyfull and Veganforlife for your replies.
Yes, it is an odd thing... it pretty much made a mess in my cup of tea, ha.
That's a really good idea using it in green smoothies. Thank you for you help! *Ü*

The plus is FOS, a "prebiotic nutritional supplement" which "selectively nourishes the friendly bacteria in the intestines and thus increases the number of these good bacteria to support gastrointestinal health."
I don't know if these claims are true, but I use Stevia plus mostly in green smoothies that need some more sweetness.

Hi Annie ~ I also use Stevia Plus (Sweet Leaf brand) and to be honest, I'm very happy with it.
I did want to try the real deal though as our local HFS carries it (Frontier brand, I believe). *Ü*
