I want my resting pulse like Lance Armstrongs. Its like 40!! (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=lance+armstrong%27s+resting+pulse&spell=1) or so I read.
I need to go buy a bike and ride the wheels off of it.

Hi again Peter Parker.
I have an excellent testimony to raw regarding blood pressure.
When I was 31 (I'm 42 now) I was put on meds for high blood pressure. After 10 years of Adalat XL and 2 years of a water pill added to that, I'm finally off them both. I think the process began a few years ago when I first went vegatarian. Then at the end of January when I finally went raw vegan for a 21 day stretch...I ended up in the hospital with very low blood pressure and very low potassium. (Which can be dangerous to the heart)
Having said that, let me explain. What I think happened was that because of my blood pressure getting lower and lower over the time I'd been vegatarian and then vegan, the water pill was leaching all of the potassium out of my body. Which apparently, it can do.
I am now off both meds! I haven't been eating that well again for a few months and my blood pressure has been sneaking back up. Sooo, I'm back here. High raw again and I'm learning that as long as I stay high raw with no animal products, I'm alright. Doctors have said I'd be on the meds for life. Ha! What a cage they put us in.
Anyhow, congratulations on your lowering blood pressure, this really works!

BP average 113/73. Pulse: 48
I check my blood pressure a couple of times per day (just for the heck of it - it started with me just wanting a baseline but it's so much fun to use the machine and it's right beside my computer).
I'm usually 90-110 over 60-75 with a resting pulse of around 50-65 (depending on whether or not what I'm seeing on the computer at the time is really pissing me off or not).
I'm not yet 100% raw and I (apparantly) was not eating SAD in the first place. Plus I workout hard 10-15 hours per week. Working out is importatnt.
I want Lance's bp too but I don't think it's in my genetics. Or maybe it's because I'm not in as great a shape as I thought. I'm certainly not in Lance shape - but I'm not genetically destined to get his VO2 Max either.

Yup, off both meds after so many years! Showed the docs a thing or two about the body healing itself. :)
Took some prayer, some tears and determination. Oh yeah, and lots of raw food. That's it. :)

I had a physical last week (just a quickie to meet some regulations) and it was taken twice. Ummm ... the first time was like 100/76 and the second was 80/52.
As far as your challenge, M, I've got a 6 month jump on you. But, jump on board. It's absolutely terrific. And, dare I say, not that hard with the right resources (you'll have some of 'em soon and I now you've got the equipment), the right attitude, and a whole lot of persistence. Oh, and ya have to get rid of any self-sabotage that may be hiding in the corners. That said ... way cool. Don't wait till you get her book!

Blood preasure when cooked was death 248/176 resting pulse rate 174
NOW, it is 142/76 resting pulse rate 74
I still weigh over 200 pounds, so I imagine it will continue to go down.
When I was young it was 128/70 resting pulse rate 50-60 Depending on how cute the guy was taking my blood preasure.
