I have been raw for almost a month, not counting a couple of minor slip-ups.

Last weekend, with help from Aleesha, I did a 3 day green smoothie feast! I know not nearly as long as many have done but, it was big for me!

I have been drinking about 80oz of green smoothie a day since and I noticed my first positive effect of raw last night!! I was really cold all day, so I turned up the heat, and then I got REALLY hot ... so I decided to put a pair of shorts on and relax under a blanket... When I lefted my leg up onto the couch I noticed NO BRUISES!!! ... I was astonished!!! I can see my legs for the first time!! I usuaully bruise really easily, and they never go away! I crawl on the floor with kids all day so Im used to be legs being a war zone!!

BUT, NO BRUISES!! My boyfriend was delighted! he is always affraid people are going to think he beats me!! LOL:D

--------------------------

I have also noticed something after my 3 day green smoothie feast.

I have noticed 3 different "full" feelings

GS FULL - a nice full. not stuffed. I still crave solids, and something besides it but, I can push the craving aside.

Solid Raw FULL - It reminds me of the SAD full feeling I used to get, and ultumately leads be to a really strong craving, which usually has lead me to the minor slip-ups that I am not counting!! (really minor). I spend the rest of my day in agony...

SAD FULL - Well, we all know... PUKE.

For instance.. I woke up starving this morning...Drank 40oz of water (love my klean kanteen) and then 2 hrs later had a GS. at lunch I had guacamole and now im craving SAD that I cannot eat due to allergies (which I never craved before) and horrible things like chocolate cake! AHHHHHHHHHHHH now im in agony... physical, mental PAIN. :(

Im glad I have noticed these things but now I dont know what the heck to do!!

I really want to try an extended smoothie feast - But for some reason I have this fear of cravings not going away - Which is hindering me from trying things!! I feel like I did when I rode my bike and ended up face first into a brick wall! SPLAT

I had that agony last night. I so wanted a fried egg sandwich. Bread is really hard for me to let go. I'm practicing "tasting without eating."

It has to be done with commitment, or it will backfire and make me cave.

I promise myself to NOT cave, NOT have it physically, but let myself experience the mouth experience, the taste, the texture, all of the things I love about it. I imagine how it makes me feel, all of the things I loved about it, as if I'm actually eating it, but without really having it. It was hard last night, but by doing that, and eating raw stuff, the craving finally passed.

I have done that and it works...if you let it.

Lately I have been doing something similar...tasting without eating via dreams. I always wake up So relieved...last night in my dreams I even smoked!

Congrats on the green smoothie success...I will be doing one soon, so it's always encouraging to hear!

I too have cravings once and a while for evil things - then I think how icky I feel afterward and do not give in.

If you are craving sweets can you have things like dates? or raw honey - they are delish and satisfy a sweet tooth. You can also make a raw chocolate pudding that even pleases my SAD neices. :D

Cravings come and go- they do get easier though.
