I'm thinking I'd like to include nutritional yeast in my diet in small amounts. Does anyone have any favorite sauce or dressing recipes that use nutritional yeast but are otherwise all-raw?
Thanks,
Deborah

It's not a sauce or dressing but I can consume massive quantities of Phillip McCluskey's "Green Popcorn," which is basically just cauliflower broken up into florets, then tossed with some oil (he uses olive, I use Udo's), spirulina, nutritional yeast, and sea salt, all to taste.
His recipe suggests dehydrating but I never do - it's perfect fresh and crunchy.
Love, love, LOVE it!

That sounds awesome. What is the flavor that spirolina brings to it?

Honestly, I think the spirulina is there more for nutritional content more than anything else, however I have made it without the spirulina and it just wasn't the same.
I can't even describe the flavor... Something about the combo of the nutritional yeast and the spirulina is just so delicious!

The raw cheddar cheese dip recipe on here has nut. yeast in it...I've heard of people just sprinkling it on their salad for a cheesier taste.
Dumb question perhaps but what is spirulina, where does it come from, where do you buy it and why do you buy it?

An interesting tid bit from the above article: The Aztecs called it Tecuitlatl, meaning stone's excrement.
Rock poo!! Bahahahaaa. How fitting.
I made the green popcorn lastnight. Made two batches, one green, one not, and then dehydrated half of each. The raw didn't keep well in the fridge, I think it needs to be eaten right away, the coating got very slimy. To my surprise, I think I like the green best, if eaten with eyes closed. Dehydrated was OK, but got kind of strong in flavor.

there was a recipe on this site for red bell pepper chips or crackers (I forget which) which had nutritional yeast in them. I really like them. After they are dehydrated, sometimes I will put some of them in the grinder and grind into a powder to add to soups or sprinkle over salads, but I really like to eat the crackers just like that~~they are one of my favorite.
