I am 48 and live in Cleveland, GA. If there is anyone from my I would love to connect and learn from you. I hope to post a picture soon but I started today and I am going to try to go live ASAP. My current weight is 150 and I am 5'5".

Welcome. I have a genetically high cholesterol count but really don't need to lose anymore weight so I'm hoping raw will assist with that. I actually have a physical in two weeks so I'll know how it is.

Anyway, good luck and hope we can all help answer any questions you have.

There is much support to be had in the Atlanta area and, I think, even a raw food cafe in Asheville if you are interested in heading out into the mountains for a weekend. (Not completely sure about that one) In Atlanta there are several raw restaurants, a living foods institute, and at least one raw food potluck that I know of. You can call the Living Foods Institute, Sprout Raw Cafe, Cafe Life at Life Grocery in Roswell, Lovin' It Live in East Point & Everlasting Life in the West End for more information and support. My favorite, Natural Delites in Decatur, recently closed... she will be truly missed. Potlucks are a great way to get in touch with other people interested in the live food lifestyle. You could check those out once a month, and combine the trip with some grocery shopping at the Dekalb Farmers Market :)

Mostly practice gratitude for the abundance around you and keep your eyes open! you can get lovely raw dishes at some restaurants just by paying attention, without using the confusing word 'raw.' Like the green papaya salad at Thai restaurants, SomTum, hold the fish sauce
