What are your favorite brands of coconut BUTTER and Coconut OIL? The first time I ordered coconut butter from Alissa's store, I received Artisana Coconut Butter and I loved it. The next time I ordered it, I got something that tasted vaguely different (not quite as good) and it just had Alissa's label on it. Now, I see that she is again selling the Artisana. Of all that I've tried so far, I really prefer the Artisana. I have tried a few different brands of coconut oil, as well. I liked the Nutiva, until I read that it's not raw. I've tried Jarrow, which is good. And I've tried Spectrum, which I really don't like - I find it to be kinda gritty and oily tasting. I can't stomach it for oil pulling, which is what I use the coconut oil for, as well as externally (hair and skin - oil cleansing method). Can anyone recommend a really good tasting coconut butter and coconut oil? Thanks in advance! Also, I know that Starfire eats coconut oil to lose weight. Do you think eating coconut butter would work too, as it's so delicious and I could eat it by the spoonfuls!!:D

definitely artisana. its the only one that actually tastes good to me and doesnt make me feel nauseous. i think its because its actually coconut BUTTER i.e. the whole coconut, and not just the extracted oil.

Hi Buffalogal -

coconut butter is the meat processed into a butter where the oil is the product of a separation process (either by centrifuge or fermentation if it is virgin). I like Garden of Life. They say there's is 100% raw.

Nutiva will be carrying a raw oil starting in spring.
