Hi There,

I want to put my Dulse seaweed in the dehydrator and make crisps.

How long will this take and what temperature to use? 115 okay?

I dont like all the salt on it so I rinsed it off in a bowl of water and then squeezed it dry. I then broke it up into little pieces and put it on the dehydtrator tray.

Is it okay to rinse it off to remove the salt? I hope I am not removing the nutrients also!

You mean you want to take dried, commercially-prepared, store bought dulse, rinse it off, break it up, and dehydrate it?
Or you want to take fresh seaweed, rinse, chop, and dehydrate?
What salt?

Sorry, I'm confused.

yeah i dont think its going to get any "crispier" than it already was when you bought it, because it was already dried. dulse tends to be a softer-textured seaweed, along with sealettuce. maine sea vegetables website has a recipe with kelp, honey, and sesame seeds though if you want to make sweet kelp crisps. nothing is going to be super-crispy like a chip though...the kelp will for a minute but if you dont chew and swallow fast enough it goes back to being slimy :p
