Anybody spin poi?

I'm still a beginner, I've spun fire poi twice which was wonderful as the roar the fire ones make as they go swooshing by your ears is amazing.

(I can't practise fire poi in my garden as it is too small and I might burn the fence down. I use glow poi to practise with as they are fun to do).

Yeah, I think that looks awesome - I've had my eye on it for several years now.
Maybe I'll give it a try, too!

I bought some but then was only into it for a few weeks. There aren't any teachers in my area so I kind of taught myself what I could and then gave up. It *really* hurts, so make sure and get the gentlest ones you can.

it hurts??:confused: like, your hands, or bumping them into your face? (that would be me! :p)

Not your hands/arms...it hurts wherever it hits you, and it's going to hit you often until you get really good. Face/back/stomach etc. Ouch. I got some that claim they are "soft" but they still bring tears to my eyes. Lol.
