I made Alissa's Fudge cookies from her book.

They contain walnuts, macadamia nuts, raisins and banana and are dehydrated.

They taste delicious - but it took me a few days to connect them to the explosive things that were happening to my butt!

So sad, and so annoyed the food combining police are right :D

Anyway my H is relieved I've found the source of the problem, he nearly chucked me out of bed a couple of nights ago so he wouldn't suffocate!

I'm glad you found the source of the problem.

Before I discovered food combining I had to leave a window open. Mexican food was always a blast.

I'd at lease give him a dutch oven before getting kicked out of the bed. ;)

I've been wondering about this -- do you find that food combining is more crucial now that you're raw? I never used to even think about it before, but now I really notice when I mess it up. Why is that, do you think? Is it just because we're so much more in tune with our digestion now, so we notice when it's wrong? Or are raw foods somehow harder to digest, thus making food combining more important? hmmmmm..... discuss...

I think a lot of raw foodists get into food combining as yet another way to feel even better . I think raw foods are easier to digest than cooked foods, even if they are poorly combined. i.e. a complex raw gourmet meal (say, Alissa's lasagna) is still easier to digest than a mono cooked meal (such as a bowl of brown rice).
I usually don't follow food combining and I'm fine. Certain combinations I do avoid though, because I know I really can't digest them well. For example, avocado and garlic together are a no no for me. My digestion is worse when I'm stressed out, so if I have an exam or a concert coming up, I will eat mono meals for a few days before.
