View Full Version : leftover pumpkin seeds?

what can i do with 'em? they're from a pumpkin i used for the pumpkin pie. can i dry them? should i soak/sprout them? i'm clueless about this, but couldn't bear to throw them away!

just a reminder - good zinc and iron source . and zincs an important mineral in the male diet .

You can soak and dehydrate them but I prefer them plain and raw.

julie - raw, really? do i have to worry about enzyme inhibitors in them, as in certain nuts and seeds? (hence my thoughts on soaking/sprouting...)
also, i don't have a dehydrator...

You can take them from the pumpkin, rinse them off, and put them in your oven on a low temp with a fan to dry them. Turn the oven off and on to keep it from getting to hot. A bit of salt sprinkled on them before drying is nice. You can also do this with butternut squash seeds.
