Hi, all! I have a problem. Over the last few weeks, I've been getting dizzy when I get up, with the whole black over the eyes, occasionally having to lay down because otherwise I will fall down. Last I took my blood pressure, it was pretty low, although yesterday giving blood, it was fine.
It's not dehydration, my iron levels are great, I'm getting B-12, I eat primarily fruits and veggies and greens, occasionally some grains, lots of nuts, and my cal-mag is good.
The last time I gave blood before yesterday, I got the dizzy spell that sends the nurses running because I guess I hadn't eaten enough. Yesterday, I got it because I was standing up instead of sitting to drink my smoothie (slipped discs; can't sit.) Next I'll definitely be laying on the bed longer. Ugh! What a show!
It was proposed that I need more carbs, or may be hypoglycemic. I have no other symptoms of hypoglycemia. No shaking, no difficulty concentrating... I've got a lot of energy.
The first time this happened was when I was scuba diving, and out of the blue, at 30 feet, I started to pass out. It was really hard holding on to consciousness long enough to reach the surface. I was fine beforehand. I ate lots, slept lots... I didn't get dizzy a lot since then, only these last few weeks.
Does anyone have an idea of what's going on?? I want to figure this out but if I don't I will definitely talk to my doc.

Ack, sorry for double post!
I also have to mention that I have tried breathing exercises, which seem to help a little bit. Like, breathing deeply a few seconds before getting up.
How long have you been 100% raw?
If you have been 100% raw for at least months, perhaps you have a stressed out pancreas. I'm guessing from what has been mentioned so far. Although besides the dizziness, you don't have other symptoms.
If you are hypoglycemic, you'll need to consume more vegetable protein and avoid or completely eliminate fruits or veggies with a high glycemic index. You will need to do this until you get better. Avoid sugars or other sugar substitutes like agave, dates, etc.... You may also consider proper food combining. Consume enough liquids.
Also, you may be interested in getting a colonic done (won't hurt) or self-administering an enema just in case toxins are being released in your body and are not exiting, when it should. but instead, it's going through a constant loop in your bloodstream.
You can talk to a doc. to get a diagnosis. Some also guess, but some are good. I hope you get a good one.
Feel better soon, hun!

i was gonna say breathing exercises , because it could be like your mind is running too fast for your body (like from the modern day affects of quickly changing tv images - fast moving cars - radio / noise blarring everywhere , but ecspecially the tv) . too much stuff for your mind to process so it shuts down , kind of like any overworked muscle cramping . like legs stiffening up on an extremely long run . so daily / regular deep breathing - mind clearing meditation might be really needed . and yoga type deep stretching , i like doing deep all the way to ground squats to stretch out my upper legs while barefoot in grass . and when ive taken the time to follow yoga workouts on tv ive felt alot calmer , but im too busy to calm down and keep doing them :p
and i recall in my herbals that chamomille is good for fainting spells .
that said i put my stock in raw diet / deep breathing / meditating / stretching . its a fast whirling enviroment around humans today , til like 50 years ago we walked everywhere , there was no incredibly quickly moving images being flashed into our minds like the tv now (ran by evil little manipulative punks ) does , there werent unnatural noises coming out of alarm clocks / phones / car dashboards / etc . so my call is brain overload that needs to be flushed out , you must detoxify the brain

Hi! Thanks for your reply!
I sort of shift between 90-100% raw and have been so.. wow, 75 days now. I'll try your suggestions :) Except the enema/colonic... Haven't researched that yet, and have no idea how to self-administer or if anyone in my area does it! LOL Funny that you mention that. I've been thinking about it.
Michigan, I definitely agree. I've got a pretty calm life right now, though. Off work due to slipped disc.
Although that's another thing I was thinking. I haven't been able to do any cardio exercise the last 3 months (ugh!!!). Just two weeks ago, I couldn't walk to the mailbox in less than ten minutes (It's only seven metres from my front door!). Now I can walk the block. So I'll just keep on walking :)
Definitely walk to get your lypmphatic system going. Also, try to get someone to go with you in case you get dizzy. :o
Not getting a colonic or doing an enema is fine, just make sure to get the gunk out somehow. :)

ok next symptom ;)
my great friend slipped disc over a decade ago , docssuggested surgery and he lived in on off pain for years when it went out . then 2 years ago it got bad and itd take him like 3 minutes to gently ease outta a car . so i found this site called ' lose the back pain , its prob www.losethebackpain.com .. well they get into alot of stuff , suppliments , stretching etc . and their really trying and come up with some good stuff imo . theyre arent just trying to make money . and the best thing for my friend , and i mean amazing thing , was an inversion bench . it tilts one upside down to take the pressure off the discs , which ithinks help them flush out built up sludge / pollution which was causing inflammation / pain . well in less than 2 months my friends back cleared up ands still good .
these inversion benches can be bought here in detroit area department stores for around 100 . but all they are are like tall teeter tooters , and by looking at pics of one im sure could make a homemade very solid one from a 7' by 3' peice of plywood mounted to a v shaped frame which it pivots on . but im not kidding thewhat seemed to be stupid inversion therapy was a miracle for my friend .
