Roughly how many weeks into a raw food diet before I can expect to detox? I'm probably 99-100% raw now, and have been for the past week. I'm dreading the detox because I've consumed a lot of drugs and abrasive foods over the years, but so far, nothing's happening. I'm not one to be impatient, but I'm hoping to see progress! How long did it take before you guys started the "sickness" detox?

Are you sure "nothing" is happening? :)
Detox treats every body differently... I know that for me, it starts IMMEDIATELY - within the first 100% raw meal, I am detoxing. I get migraine-style headaches that last for a day or a week, depending on how badly I fell off the boat before... and I start looking like a thirteen year-old again, complexion-wise, for about a month.
DON'T dread anything! You can make things much worse by thinking they will be worse... I've heard that most of what we perceive as pain is structured to feel that way by our brains in response to our fears and preconceptions. :) (Mind over matter, in a sense...)
3,5 months :) I'm counting my appendicitis as detox as I believe my body was trying to cleanse the appendix and for whatever reason didn't succeed.
To be accurate though, 2 weeks from becoming 100% raw. For the first 3 months, I would occasionally drink pasteurized juice and ate quite a lot of cashew nuts that weren't labelled as raw.

Typically, it happens right of way and will continue all the time but not at the same level then the beginning. Maybe your body is taking it slowly and detoxing very gradually. If you do exercise, it flush out the toxin quicker, it could be a reason why you don't feel it as much.

Alright, I'm starting to have nasty headaches every other day. I'm not sure whether it's from the cacao, or is a detox system. Anyone want to shed any illumination on this? Or maybe I'm just not getting enough oxygen in my room at night... It's kind of hard to tell.

If you go through withdraw you will have this headache. Eliminating, Caffeine is a major one, salt will do this too and of course any drug or medication. Any addictive food, any food that had either aspartame or msg in it.....
Yes headache is part of detox. Drink more water and add fiber, it will help to cleanse your gut and therefore smooth the detox period.

i would cut out or down on the cacao - and simply increase your fluids. nice fresh juices, green smoothies... (((hug)))
mine started right away but i came to raw from fasting... so i obviously detoxed during fasting. but my detox with eating raw was gentle and not really a problem.

A quick way to relieve detox headaches is to lie on your back on the floor near a wall, and put your feet up on the wall. Lie like this for 20 min. (you can read a book) and your headache should vanish - way better than aspirin.
I've been raw for a year and I still experience detox. It comes and goes.
