Alissa's book has so many recipes... I'm not sure where my book is at the moment-think I loaned it out. Anyway, the recipe for "taco meat" below is GREAT in my opinion and all you need are you chips, salsa, guacamole (that's all I need for a good time). That recipe really wowed me and non-raw friends at how great it is. For people who wanted it "warmed" I placed it a ziploc type of bag and placed in some very warm/hot water while I whipped together salsa and guacamole. Your talking less than 30 minutes for your taco meat, salsa, and guacamole. I know that this is just a drop in the bucket of possibilities but I wanted to start you off with one of my favorities and I don't have Alissa's book on me to provide you with more.....

Forgot to add that I tweaked this a bit by adding red pepper, substituting the honey for agave and I can't remember if I did the nut. yeast or even had any...

Whoa, I usually make some generic walnut taco "meat," but that looks amaaaaaazing.
I grew up on Mexican food, so I'm always looking for new Mexi treats. Thanks for posting that, lavendarJ!

You can make raw salsas--pico de gallo (http://goneraw.com/recipe/pico-de-gallo)and raw green tomatillo salsas (http://www.mysanantonio.com/life/food/Salsa_Verde_Cruda_Raw_Tomatillo_Salsa.html) are great.

I actually had raw tacos in Mexico made with marinated mushrooms as the meat.
Here's a blog that's written by a woman in Mexico. It's not the best blog ever, but it's one of the few crudivegano sites I've found from Mexico that's updated fairly regularly. I think she also has a version in English. http://cocoymango.blogspot.com/

What do you mean you're a guy so you don't make recipes? lol
I'm a guy and I eat only recipes, but ultra simple things that are made in no more than 5 minutes (rarely anything more than throwing a few things in the blender or food processor and taking it out and eating).
The recipe book I'm writing will be almost only recipes that are as quick and simple as described above.
What do you eat if you don't make recipes?

Thanks. MR. I Love ya!
The Hippie still has not found a job, I am sending 35+ resumes out a day. We are doing OK, eating, living in a real house etc... (LOL) doing odd jobs here and there. Painting etc.. Hopefully the Hippie will work once again, soon! lol There are just not any jobs around, we are looking everywhere in the states. Frustrating to say the least!

I have a question I have been wanting to ask. Why as Raw Vegan's, does everyone call their taco filling "meat"? Nutloaf - nomeat loaf etc.... Do you miss eating meat? Curious because if I named anything meat I would never eat it. I have probably even done it before, not sure. It is what it is, nuts!

"meat," in old English, used to mean food in general, not just what we use it for now (decayed roasted animal muscle). EX. sweetmeat = dessert, green meat = vegetable.
I prefer the archaic meaning of the word meat to the modern one.
